Cubans that are rescued at sea are deported as are Haitians. If a Cuban gets on American soil they get to stay and receive residency. The reason is because Cuba is socialist and according to the US they are in violation of human rights. Haiti doesn't have that deal.

The Cubans have become a lot more influential in Florida politics than the Haitians. Also, we don't want to force people to live under communism, but we do want to force them to live in a crime-and disease-ridden hellhole like Haiti.

That is where race comes in. I've always said that if 20 million Africans or Haitians were to "try" to enter the U.S. illegally, their boats would not even make it close to the seashore. The politicians will turn their boats around sooooo fast. That's why it angers me when illegals (namely Mexican illegals) try to play the race card. Their situation has nothing at all to do with race. They have been pampered long enough with all of the freebies handed to them once they start having anchor babies. I just hope it is not too late for the American people to protest & get "our" voices heard for a change. We will totally out number any group that tries to protest "against" our own country while disrespectfully displaying the flag of their country. I am totally disgusted & praying that this will not pass!!!

Cubans are escaping a communist country - it's a leftover Cold War policy.
