Let me toss aside that the APA removed homosexuality from its DSM-IV in 1973.
Let me toss aside all other logic and allow you to explain to me why someone would "choose" to be gay/lesbian.
Did they wake up one morning and say "Gee I want to be a part of the most ostricized group in the world"
You can even tell me these people dont have God...maybe I will buy that for a fraction...but God or no God logically explain to me why someone would make this choice?

You're right, there is no choice.
So if everyone would go back to staying out of other people's beds, then we wouldn't have any problems.

Suicide is very common among young gays -- They don't want to be gay -- How could they possibly be choosing it? They are killing themselves while they are still virgins!!

Being gay is not a matter of choice! Our sexuality is born with us - we don't ask to be gay, straight or bi-sexual! Just as we don't ask to be black, white, yellow, brown or red!
Isn't it about time everybody accepted the fact - no more bible quotes etc? Live and let live - being gay is not a crime! Why do the bigots want to keep ostracising gay people? Probably those same uninformed idiots are the ones who fight for other human rights and condemn the death penalty for murderers and the like?
All I can say to the interfering section in society - GET A LIFE! Live how you want to live BUT leave others alone!

I've spoken with a few gays in my lifetime, and they all say they've been attracted to their same sex as long as they can remember. They knew they were gay, just like I just knew I was straight. So, if it's a choice, or an instinctm, that they were born with, why doesn't god give EVERYBODY that same irrepressible instinct to sin? Why wasn't I born with the irrepressible instinct to say, steal? And why wasn't Joe Schmo givin the instinct to Kill Things? Why would he damn some people to hell at birth, and not others? Because if it is indeed a choice, and they just have to learn to repress it, how is that fair compared to those of us without instincts/urges at birth? The devil DOES NOT have the power to reach into your womb and claim you at birth, what the hell kind of theory is THAT?!? Only God can create. Why, oh why, can somebody please tell me, is it that nobody ostracizes a tiny baby that is born with both sex organs, (they are called hermaphrodites) but everybody refuses to believe that god could let somebody be born with the brain of a female and the sex organs of a male, or visa versa...Flukes of nature happen EVERYDAY. What about transgenders, that FEEL like they are trapped in the wrong body, and even their own parents noticed they were different from the time they were babies, as far as wanting to play with the "wrong" toys, and wear the "wrong" clothes. Are you telling me that TODDLER CHOSE to be that way? They've proven that animals, mostly Rams, exhibit homosexual behavior also. How is it that NATURE is affected by nurture? Were those baby rams molested by their uncles? I'm a christian...born and raised in the charismatic church....AND the proud sister of a homosexual brother, who was also raised in that very same church!

You might choose to be homosexual because the sex is fantastic but for most gays homosexuality is not a choice but their natural sexual orientation ...some people find this hard to believe or understand but who cares?... that's their problem I do declare! I'm gay and I have a great life and a great relationship with my partner, I would not choose to be straight even if it was a choice which it is not. I'd like to add that the majority of my friends are straight and I love them immensely... I just love my partner more.

God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that a person becomes a homosexual because of sin (Romans 1:24-27), and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger / rage, does that make it right for then to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality.

Listen to what you are saying and you will see why God thinks this is wrong.God did not make anyone "Gay" But, He gave everyone freedom of choice.That is why it is a abomination.Not the people just the act of.This has nothing really to do with my belief in God though.I truly believe it is their choice not something they are born with.I think maybe to get a none bias answer you should post this on the gay /lesbian site.You might have better luck. Before you jump I have friends that are "family"and I still love them all.but it doesn't make me less scared for them.

It has got to do with the chemicals in the brain.
Here so you can follow....
If a person likes something like chocolate, the brain sends out chemicals that produce a "happy" feeling.
Therefore that person will go back and do it again.
That same response works with alcohol, drugs, and smoking.
All these facts are backed up by studies.
If a person enjoys a gay lifestyle they will pursue it. If they do no like it they will not.
It is impossible to pass on a "gay" genome since that person cannot possibly produce. Therefore if there was it would extinct itself quickly. Form of de-volution?
Science answers itself on this touchy subject.
Rarely are the findings published due to the sensitivity and the possible outcry of racism.
A Dr. phanger, I believe was killed when he reported his findings about 15 years ago.
He was gay and was looking for the gene. It did not exist, so he found a chemical in the brain that could cause it and therefore could be cured.

You're right. No one would logically make that choice. Which means that they are either (1) Created that way (2) They have no logic, and are therefore crazy or (3) They are the normal ones. All the rest of us are crazy.

It is just a fact that some people are attracted to the same or opposite sex, no one chooses this. They do have a choice whether they act upon it however, gay or otherwise.

No one every came ot a point in their life where they just chose to be straight or gay. That is total bs.
As you mature you just find yourself being attracted to one sex or another (or maybe both).
If sexual preference was choice then anyone could change their mind at any point.
