What is you views on dating women who have children? or a child? does this stray you away before you even get to know her or does it not matter?

I date the woman, whether she has children or not. If the relationship develops, then I would accept her children as my own. Most of the men I know feel pretty much the same.

I think a lot depends on your age. If I was 18-26 then it would probably make a difference to me. But the older you get, though, the less likely it is to find a woman without kids. I met my wife when I was 32 and she had 2 girls, I'm not sure I would have started a relationship with her if I had been 22 and she had 2 kids. However, I can honestly say that I found her when I did and those two girls are my daughters in every way except chromosomal and I wouldn't trade her or them for the world.

You can't generalize men for 1 thing. Some aren't going to want any part of a "Ready made" family, Some may have a hard time with it, but If they love you it will work, some will have absolutely no problem with it. It's definately harder finding someone when you have kids, but it's far from impossible. You'll find the right guy sooner or later. Just don't TRY to find someone too hard. You'll come off desperate. It will happen on its own.

I've dated women with children before. Dating someone with children complicates things somewhat. What if the kids don't like me? What if they like me too much and it doesn't work out between their mother and me?
And what if we get married? Will the children respect me since I am not their real dad? Or will they blame me for the fact that their parents will obviously not ever get back together now that they are married to different people?

To me it doesn't really matter if a woman has children as long as she is serious and the right person for me altough I do prefer a woman who has no kids. My only worry would be that the kids might not like me.

Well to me it depend on if there was a real connection there with this person. If we were in love with each other then it wouldn't matter. But if I was getting to know her and she was hiding the fact that she has a kid..then I wouldn't get with her cause honesty is a big part in establishing a relationship with anyone.

i try too avoid dating woman with kids.I know sounds bad but had only bad expriences when i used to date woman with kids.theirs always the ex.and the child will always let you know your not thier father.and i always felt a little jealous cause i wasn't getting all the attention.But there are alot of guys out there that like dating woman with kids.as for me personnally i don't. just seems like theres not enough space or privacy when dating someone with kids.

As long as the MOM took responsability to force the DAD to pay child support. It shows a strong woman.

Having children can tell a lot about a person. In the end, its who the mom is and how she is. But kids can rat out parents and tell bad points about a person so fast it makes your head spin....

To be honest, it does bug me because I grew up with a single mother and I was jealous and hated most of her boyfriends. I also feel that the children would compare me to their real father.
