i know it probably is much better to be a vegetarian if you are overweight and sit around all day, but personally, im a twig as is, and do lots of physical activity

People trying to build muscle dont abstain from meat, they eat lots of everything, and use vigorous workout routines to get stronger.

Personally it seems like i might waste away to nothing if i stopped eating meats. Is this true or would there be a way to avoid it?

would an meatless diet be beneficial to my health?

IMO, being a vegetarian is not healthier for anyone.

Humans are made to be omnivores...we cannot get all of the nutrients our bodies need without eating some of everything.

Not eating meat won't make you "waste away"...you'd just need to eat more of different stuff to offset the calories you'd be missing.

A diet that balances what your body needs is the best. You should continue eating meat but you can avoid red meat. Vegetarian diets are popular because they avoid a lot of the processed foods we consume.

I don't think being a vegetarian is more healthy. In American society, we eat too much meat and not enough vegetables but cutting out meat all together is rather extreme and I think its unhealthy.

I think moderation and balance is the key to good health. To quit eating one item...such as meat, or eggs, or milk because the politics of the day doesn't want those producers to make money, is too radical. Eat everything...just not so much of it.

Exercise more, eat less, balance your diet.

No, it would not, meat is a part of a good diet, just not if it's a replacement for..well..the rest of it, you can't live without water, but to much can kill you. All things in moderation.
More grains and veggies then meat, but still eat some meat.
if you want to get exact about it, I am not that far in, only that you need it, and the rest.

Veggie diet is an easy way to avoid most fat and cholesterol with the exception of the big veggie evil: DAIRY. You should modify your diet so that it fits your calorie goals, it's not any more healthy to have a veggie diet thats a healthy amount of calories vs a meat diet that has the same calories and fat and fiber. Do what is easy for you. And if you go veggie EASY ON THE DAIRY!

Nope... you gotta eat everything... if you dont get calcium, your nails get white. if you dont eat protein, something else happens to you... and the list goes on... it doesn't matter if you're overweight unless people can notice it and it's really bad... try to eat everything though.
