No. I don't agree. I don't agree that suffering causes others to suffer.

I also don't agree that people generally choose to suffer.

I know many who suffer from all types of things but yet have the strength and courage to help others. I guess these people know what it's like to be in a bad position.

Yes. But deep down we all feel the need to make certain ones suffer. Sometimes to make them feel the pain we once felt through our suffering.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'we who can suffer a lot'. If you're referring to people who are more able/willing to experience their emotional distress more fully than others, I would have to differ. I think that group does not make others suffer because they tend to be more interested in getting through the pain and moving on.....If you are speaking about a different group who tend to dwell in their pain or who tend to define themselves by their pain - that's a different question. People who dwell in their pain frequently do so because they feel hopeless about ever feeling better. No likes to watch someone they care about in pain... and folks who feel like they can never relieve their pain frequently feel pretty angry about that (who wouldn't?) and that anger can sometimes leak out,
