should car companies be forced to stop selling cars because 40,000 americans die each year in accidents? thats about 160,000 since the Iraq invasion. That doesnt include motorcycles or tractor trailores. Then there's also airplane deaths.

If you're such a big fan of the war, what are you doing here? Why aren't you over there fighting it? Put up or shut up.

I have to agree its not just the liberals its the conservatives too.
The media asked General Norman Swarzkopf (pardon the spelling if its wrong) what he thought about the war in Iraq and I quote, "These days I never miss a good chance to keep my mouth shut." This man is hardly a liberal yet hes not a blind Bushite conservative. Its not the liberals we really need to be addressing its the brain washed people who follow things they see on the T.V. whether it be the media saying Iraq is horrible or if its Bush saying things are going swimmingly.
ANYONE who follows with out question any government/media blindingly isnt thinking, and when we dont think then we run into problems.

It's not just liberals who want out - and you can add the tens of thousands of innocent civilian deaths to that number too.
You logic is so very flawed. Cars and war have absolutely nothing to do with each other other than, I guess, sometimes people die from them. Why don't you just go get a gun and start picking people off in the street- because they might die in a car crash or something else anyway! Gimme a break.
LOL - I can't believe some people think you make a good point. This could not be more illogical! It could try, but it would not succeed!

Those deaths are accidents (car, etc.). The deaths in Iraq are primarily on purpose on both sides. Cars serve a useful purpose and the intent is NOT to kill when driving a car. Going to war, the intent IS to kill. By the way, you forget to mention the 100's of thousands of Iraqi civilian deaths that are of our and terrorist doings. OH, but you conveniently neglect that one.
It not simply the deaths that warrant our departure, its the fact that we are not making progress anymore, nor will. We could stay there for decades and not get much further.
You people don't get that middle eastern cultures are very different than western cultures. Those people have been in conflict for 100's of years and will continue. If muslims cannot coexist peacefully (shia and sunni), what makes you think they'll peacefully abide by our continued occupation.
You're friggin clueless.
btw-- there are very few airline deaths each year.

Two things: Liberals HATE any position different from their own. And Liberals no nothing about history. If 3,000 casualties signals failure in war, then NO COUNTRY has ever known victory.
America has suffered thousands of deaths in days, not years in some of our greatest battles, yet we just kept on fighting. In those days we knew the cost of losing was always higher than victory. The liberals whined even then but the rest of us kept going because we believed that the future of our nation mattered more than our own personal safety. People today don't learn this any more. Lord help out nation.

People want out of Iraq one because it is a losing situation. It isn't just because of the 3300 some deaths and tens of thousands wounded, but because it was an unjust conflict to begin with, Iraq never made any attempt to attack the US despite VP Cheney's rantings. As far as the death toll from cars goes, they were once much much higher, a 1970s report came out and that's how EMTs/Paramedics were formed to help stop those deaths, and that's why people are speaking out to stop these deaths.

certain, you're suitable. it truly is amazingly sparkling, that on the least, Iran will invade Iraq. Liberals do not recognize what civil conflict is, yet they're going to, if we leave Iraq now. better than that, they are going to be gazing a finished massacre taking position ON those Iraqi those with the pink hands. Iran has continuously hated Iraq. historic previous proves it. The terrorists residing in Iraq will aspect with Iran, too. The possibility free Iraqi human beings, who purely ever needed one ingredient, FREEDOM, will be left defenseless hostile to murderers, having no guns to wrestle with, and NO the position to run to, and NO the position to cover. it will be a SLAUGHTER! If we leave, and this occurs, i ask your self what a Lib might want to assert to themselves then? Who cares?

I believe Liberals feel morally superior when they oppose anything the President does. Our military is the best trained and equipped force in he world. The liberals feel superior by advocating non-violence even when there is no other choice. If we don't fight the terrorists overseas, we will have to fight them here. As for not serving any purpose, FREEDOM is the ONLY necessary purpose. As for civilian deaths, the number is far less than some of the answers would indicate. Some people in this country feel they are the only people in hte world who deserve freedom.Freedom has to be won, it is NEVER given.

how many lives were saved by driving ambulances....fire trucks....police cars. We're talking hundreds of thousands. The ends justify the means.....our world simply won't regress to out of date technology just because some deaths are caused by cars. Classic conservative argument that does not cut to the point in any way...and is a mere distraction to the truth. We should not be Iraq and all thsoe lives have been lost for nothing. Comparing those deaths to the small percentage of autmobile drivers that are killed each yeah is ridiculous. What are you saying exactly?!?! get rid of all cars and planes?!?! Hopefully you will have a heart attack some day and have to WALK to the hostipal 30 miles away. Good argument......now pick up your pride that I just destroyed and walk away, Bush lover.

Cars actually have a useful purpose and it's just how people use it. No matter how you look at it, war is ONLY used for hurting other people. Cars are used to get us from place to place. Cars move us forward, war is only a setback.
