you can get thinner but you can gain weight faster if you eat after not eating anything

I tried this when I was 14 - it did make me thinner really quickly, but it also made me pretty sick. I wasn't really eating and I was on the track team, so that helped shed the pounds. However, it became really painful to eat because my stomach shrank so much, and I would throw up bile in the morning from being so hungry. I was also extremely depressed and irritable all the time, I bruised easily, and I was exhausted. I would often double over from the pain in my stomach. Plus you gain it all back the instant you try to eat like a normal person again.

I would recommend just trying to eat healthier, not less. Also exercise is crucial to any healthy lifestyle. I managed to loose the same amount of weight the healthy way rather than just stop eating - it just took a little more time, but I can keep it off now!

Your body actually begins to digest your muscle to maintain itself. Your fat is still stored as a reserve. It is not healthy at all to not eat. If you feel the need to lose weight, try eliminating sugars and grains (or at least cut back on them). Even if you are not hungry, you should eat a little something to keep your system from thinking that you are starving it.

So, in not eating you will get thinner; but, it is because you are loosing your muscle...all the fat remains.

You will get thinner and not gain fat, unless you are drinking calories. Your fat will burn off, but eventually, you wll suffer side effects from vitamin deficiencies. Your breath will start turning mediciney after about 2 days of not eating, and you will feel very fatigued. It's not a good way to lose weight, but it does work.

when you don't eat (or don't get at least 1200cal a day) your body goes into starvation mode and makes every desperate attempt to hang onto your fat stores as possible. the healthy route is to eat 1200cal or more a day and get those calories from healthy fats, lean proteins, FRUITS, VEGGIES and whole grain carbs. make sure every meal you eat has a balance of carbs, proteins and fats. a typical serving of protein is about the size of your palm and a serving of carbs, the size of your fist. drink tons of water too! (2-3L a day) this will help make your organs function efficiently and boost your metabolism. cardio and weight training workouts boost metabolism too...with cardio you get immediate burn but with weight training you get sustained burn which means you are buring calories even at rest.

You don't 'gain' fat from starving yourself, but you will retain the fat you have and lose muscle mass. Fat is stored energy, and if you try to starve yourself...your body will burn up muscle in non essential areas first, keeping the fat for emergency use to keep your organs alive for as long as possible if you continue to starve. Your body doesn't comprehend that you only intend to 'starve' for a little while. It can only interpret the lack of food as a warning that food isn't available, and may not be for a long time.
