well look at when the scores dropped right after the USA Supreme court through out prayer from school. and to revisit history it was Christians that put together the schools of higher education.

The USA has NEVER been a `top country` with regards to educational standards, you are however a young immature country that has in the main, developed separately from `enlightened` Europe, and to a large extent religion invades American life, as it did Europe in centuries past. I posted a question suggesting that the USA likes to elect the `less clever` Presidents because the population can relate to them. It was DELETED within 5 minutes ! Keep alert, do what you can to support education and freethinking, avoid the religious sectarian interests, put truth before fiction. Must go now, I am doing a quiz with the kids, and we are stuck - can ANYONE really name 5 USA intellectuals ???

i agree to some level. we must not forget that religious schools are some of the best and most prestigious, but then agian they don't take all those state tests.. do they? the public shcools are definently hurting. what ever happened to seperation of church and state? i'm only 13 and i observe in my classrooms about relgion and such forth. we need to put relgion aside in order to learn the facts. education is what truely matters, i believe relgion should come second.

There's something wrong with the logic here. What does the church have to do with test scores?
Children who are home-schooled have BETTER test scores, not worse. Children who attend private school (including parochial schools) have BETTER test scores. I can find statistics on this to prove it.
Religion has no bearing on the test scores, whatsoever. Apathetic teachers and our education system DO.

Churches were the ones who started schools. And, PUBLIC scools test scores are dropping, private schools (many of which are church run) are doing fine. I almost want to take a crack at you and guess you went to public school for not knowing that...

Religion was designed to keep people quiet and stupid
so yes ... it erodes honest, forthcoming education for our children ... and it under minds a child's natural ability for free thought and imagination
