John 5

21For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it. 22Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, 23that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.

21)For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.
--Depending on how you look at this passage it could possibly mean that just as the Father gives life so can the Son. The Son has the right to give/take life just like the Father does.
22)Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son,
--The Son judges us. He is the One we will sit infront of on Judgment day.
23)that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.
--This verse is closely related to verse 22. It gives the reason of why God intrusted all judgment to the Son (so that all men will honor the Son just as they honor the Father. .in a sense it give Jesus equality with the Father). Jesus affirmed that you honor the Father by honoring and accpeting His Son. This verse relates to the Jews who didn't accpet His Son and instead blasphemed the Father by rejecting Jesus sent by the Father.

Overall, these verses are implying that Jesus was sent by God and we have to go through Jesus to honor the Father. That Jesus and the Father aren't different. (Like Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost - Three in One).

Actually it's not him speaking it is a prophet, the Bible is a book of reculections witnessed by several different people. And what is being said is that in order to get to the Lord you must go through his son Jesus. They tell you to call on his name, when you pray you pray to Jesus. He determines your sincerity. He knows your heart and you can't fool him. He then makes the decision to take it to his Father and grants your blessings. Just like getting a job. You have to go through the interview process to see if they want you for the job. But getting into Heaven is a equal opprtunity so getting the job is your business. How does your resume look?

He was showing that He is the Son of God.
Read it with Vs. 19 thru 24

Joh 5:19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
21 For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.
22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:
23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

I am not a biblical scholar but I would interpret that to mean that there should not be specific "favor" between the trinity, being the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We should consider all three as One. The portion regarding judgement specifically relates to Christ having died for our sins... standing in between the judgement of the Father on our behalf.

Again, I am not a scholar, but would read it in this context.

John 5:27 says:
And he (GOD) has given him ( JESUS) authority to do judging because the son of man he is.

Go back and read the whole chapter 5

God has entrusted and commissioned his son to carry out the judging. And the son will gladly do it.
verse 28 tells of the resurrection. the good to life...the bad to judgment.

The wise thing is to do good things now and avoid the hassle of judgment later.

That Jesus, because of what he has done, has earned highest trust and favor from his father, Jehovah. So, he is given power and authority above anyone but his Father. Judging all and even ressurection from the dead is part of his power. Certainly, Jesus is deserving of honor for being him and for his position in Jehovah's creation.

The Bible is open to interpretation. Unfortunately, people take it and twist it in their favor and against others'. I think the Bible is something personal. But the way I read this scripture is Christ says in order to honor the Father, you must first honor the Son. Christ is the one who passes judgement. I'm no scholar, but this is the way I read it.

I think the father releases the weight of judging by entrusting it to the son.
But even in that case, judging was created by the father so theres no point saying he does not judge.

It doesn't matter what I think.

What matters is that you study the Word in context, use scripture to interpret scripture, don't try to make it sound like something it is not etc........................................

Jesus judges in righteousness. We are talking about the one who is called:
Faithful and True
The Word of God
King of Kings and Lord of Lords

He comes to rule with a rod of iron and carries out the wrath of God on an ungodly world. The real question here is do you believe? Have you put your faith in Him? A day will come when every knee with bow and every mouth will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Jesus is the mediator between God and man...It says in the Bible that (John 14:6) no one can come to God (know, see, etc) except through Jesus. Picture this, a person waaaay down here on earth and God waaay up there in Heaven...and that space inbetween...that's Jesus. He is God who humbled himself to become man and live here on earth, so that we can know God and God's love/mercy/hope here on earth.

For a human, God is too massive, too omnipotent, too much for our human minds to understand! Like, in John 8:20 Jesus says "If you knew me, you would know my Father also." Therefore, Jesus was sent to save us according to means we as humans could understand.

Basically, these verses are saying that Jesus and God are NOT separate from one another (and in fact are one in the same, just different "states" per se). God is God as God...while Jesus is God as man. Everything that Jesus does is because He is God...and everything God does is because He is also Jesus.

On earth, we can only know God through the love, salvation, etc. of Jesus Christ and Jesus possess that love, saving qualities, etc because He is God and God sent Him.
