Today i was sitting in a parked car and i saw something which really shocked me.

A truck was coming down road at same time a silver car from coming from the opposite end, neither was going to let the other pass. So they both attempted to pass , while cursing eachother out.

Immediately after they passed eachother, the man from the truck got out holding a chain ready to fight. The man from silver car quick opened his boot and to my amazement a pitbull jumped and was ready to attack.

Eventually they both backed from, but i was just shocked that someone would use their pet in that way?????

Has anyone else seen something like this????? and do you think that certain people should have their pets taken away from them????

That is crazy! There are some people who get certain breeds of dogs like pitbulls and rotweillers to make themselves look tough and to intimidate others. They train the dogs to be vicious, we all know the type, drug dealers and scum bags. People like this definitely shouldn't be allowed to own dogs that in the wrong hands can be dangerous. I have seen a rotweiller who was owned by a woman and it was lovely and really cute and friendly and have seen one with a dodgy guy who had to use all his strength to keep the dog from attacking me and my dog. So certain people definitely shouldn't be allowed to own these type of dogs.

I have german shepherds that would act the same way if I were threatened altho they've never been taught to do so.
But unlike these idiots I would've let the other guy pass rather than allow myself to get into a situation like this or any other where I'd possibly put myself or my dogs at risk.
I agree with you completely -Some people should not own any animal especially those who cannot take care of themselves or act like they have a brain.

Well road rage is stupid under any circumstances.

Years ago I was driving to a Field Trial and pulled off the freeway for gas and coffee. Having no idea of the lay of the land in a strange city, I definitely took the wrong exit. When I pulled into a little gas station three guys came out to greet me (ball bat and all) When one of them leaned over the hood of my truck to look through the windshield he asked "what kind of dog is that?" I had a field trial trained Labrador Retriever in the cab of the truck with me, but what I said was, "he is an attack dog " "MARK". Mark is the command for a retriever to to pay attention and look for a bird falling out of the sky, so the dog lit up like a Christmas tree when I said it. You have never seen three guys back off as fast as they did. Soooooooo,,,,, I wouldn't be to quick to condemn that guy, maybe he did the only thing he could to keep from getting his head bashed in.

Disgraceful behaviour from both parties, but to use an animal in that way is illegal. You should have taken the registration number of both vehicles, particularly the bloke with the dog, used your mobile phone to take a picture and reported the incident to the police. I think its dreadful that men hide behind their dog - the dog is usually only aggressive because of the way they've been raised. This shocked me too.

The depths to which people sink never fails to amaze me! I am definitely coming back as a dog next time!!

The way in which the dog was used is appalling and the dog should be removed from the owner under the dog safety laws whether you are in the US or the UK

Well I have problems with the dog in the boot - too much risk of emissions gasing him. I didn't see this incident but if I had a large or threating looking dog with me I'd use him/her as part of a bluff to advoid being beaten badly! However since they WERE past & the road was clear I wouldn't have stopped...
But I have spotted such high jinks before - some people have no idea of moderation.

Wow.. Road rage at it's very worst... People shock me daily in the things they will do... I can't even imagine pulling a dog on someone ..

Yeah people should definitely be required to pass some sort of temperament test themselves before they are allowed a dog.. Especially a large / strong dog..

It's not the poor dogs fault ,it's the owner and he should be reported . Some people train dogs ie pit bulls etc to be aggresive and to fight . I myself have never witnessed this but have been told about it many times .

In many ways, dogs are a more noble creature than man is. Man was entrusted with a lot of responsibility when he started to care for the dog. Unfortunately, just like some people hit little chidlren, some people misuse, mistreat, neglect, or abuse their dog.

What is there to say other than, people are stupid. I find it lame that so many people have to feed their egos by teaching their dogs to be "bad-*** fighters" there-in causing them to be dangerous to not only themselves, but others. People like that should be jailed. Although, from the sound of it, neither of them should have licenses either!
