Iraq ? How about - "when are we gonna get out of Korea?"
we could be in Iraq even longer, but I sincerely doubt that.

When bush leaves office we the people will have to take a good long hard look at Iraq. The way things are going now we will probably not be any closer to victory by then.
That will be a big problem, because we can't really afford to lose.
If we don't win will bush blame the American people ?

Haven't you heard anything the President, Sec. of Defense, and a laundry list of generals have said recently? We will leave Iraq when the Iraqi Army and Police force are able to take care of security on their own. That has been the plan all along. I agree that it has been screwed up six ways from Sunday, but things appear to finally be straightening out (at least some). Our aim is to establish a stable government in Iraq. Stability requires security. Security requires a military and police force sufficiently trained and equipped to operate on its own. As of right now, the Iraqi Army and Police force aren't able to do this. If the much hated 'surge' is successful (as it has been up to now), Baghdad will be largely pacified and the Iraqis will have an opportunity to get their army and police forces on their feet. Once that is accomplished, they can begin relieving US forces who can then rotate home. The final steps are political and are the purview of the super geniuses in Congress.

Hopefully not until the job is finished - according to those who are there. If you listen to the troops, it's not done.

If you listen to the democrats, we need out of there. After all, they only thought going to war with Iraq was only a good idea during Clinton's reign of terror.

Once Bush came into office, it was all good until the war started. After all, Hilary voted for war....but didn't know what it meant or some other stupid BS.

The dems are going to pull out early (hey that sounds like what clinton did) and then we'll have to go back in a few years.

How many troops are in Europe ? Don't you think since the having them there since the 1940's. How about how many troops are in Korea? wasn't that war in the 1950's? We will get out of Iraq when the middle east is a safe place to live.

I keep seeing people writing about "when we're done". Done with what? Iraq had no ties to Al Qaeda, no WMD, and was no threat to America. Bush had no exit strategy, no reason to attack, and no clear goals.
We've interjected into factional fighting (civil war) that's been going on for almost 15 centuries. And we're vain enough to think we can help. Since our occupation Irag has only gotten worse, the Middle East is far more unstable and dangerous, Americans are less secure, oil prices have risen, and over 3,000 of our finest have come come in flag draped coffins. It's a damn good thing that our clueless leader has declared "mission accomplished" otherwise I'd feel like we were in a heap of trouble

Hopefully when labour are removed from office.
It is not our war, America need to stand on thier own two feet, Iraq and Afghanistan both remind me of Vietnam (facts only, im not that old), only difference is that our boys who are far better than the Americans, are over there risking thier valuable lives

a recent poll done in Iraq by the locals showed that the majority of Iraqies would rather have saddam back than us over there..

As many said, when the job is done. The question is "When is done?" Well, if you're a fighter, when we restore peace. If you're not, then we're done now, because they believe there's no point in staying, that we aren't accomplishing anything--and that, no matter what, we can't.

There's no way to know how much longer. For the fighters, much longer, for the peaceniks, it'll be over as soon as they get enough support to push legislation like that through Congress.

Are you in Iraq? Get out now! There's a war going on. It's dangerous tin there.

Anyone who thinks that we are doing a good job over there is absolutely sickening!

My son has been over there for 2 years now and it's absolutely ridiculous. If you think that war is the answer then you're obviously mistaken. War causes nothing but grief. Go send yourself or your child over there and then tell me how it feels. Trust me you won't feel the same way again.

Get the hell out
