I'm about to embark on a 50 pound weight loss, and I was wondering what tips, advice, and words of encouragement you could give me. I'm pretty nervous since it's clearly going to be a long road, so any help you can give me is super appreciated. :)

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Girl, I got what you need. Lol. I am on a weight loss journey too. You can email me or txt me on yahoo if you want. snowpawskennel@ yahoo.com or snowpawskennel yahoo ID
I have been on a diet going on 2 weeks now. I have lost 10 lbs per week. I see and feel the difference big time. I have been in college too so it's been a combination of stress, exercise, and eating healthy. I have been on the tuna diet where I eat mostly tuna 6 times a day 6 small meals. You are allowed a little tiny bit of mayo or mustard and 2 slices of wheat bread. (Has to be wheat) I also eat fruits and vegetables and drink all the water I can stand. I have also eaten cereal, salmon, and cheated with a couple hot dogs here and there. I still lost a good amount of weight. For exercise I have been doing the 8 minute abs and some pilates. What you are doing seems fine like walking or swimming they will all work as long as it's exercise. Sweating is always good. I usually do my exercises during commercial while watching my shows. I am a little over my adequate weight and have a few lbs more than I should. I can not believe the changes. I have ALWAYS gained weight never lost it, and this is the first time I have succeeded in a diet and kept at it. IT IS POSSIBLE to loose weight on your own with the things that you have at home and with your own strong will. You don't need any fake diet pills or silly equipment. I would recommend following some videos just to see what exercise you can do but that is about it. So...there you go tuna, exercise, and lots of water. Eat your recommend amounts of fruits and veggies too. Oh, the oatmeal and cream of wheat as well as the wheat bread have fiber and reduce cholesterol and they all work to help you loose weight. You could always add chicken, salmon, tuna, egg white, and salads to your diet just rotate your meals so you don't get tired of one thing. Good Luck I am around if you want to talk and motivate each other!! :)

Eat less (but sensibly)
Exercise more (but sensibly)
Don't give up (ever)
Drink plenty of fluids (at least 4 pints a day)

There will come a point (if you do this right) when you'll feel like you have no energy... like you're so weak you're almost shaking. That's the point when you've stopped burning carbs and you're starting to burn fat... it takes a day or two for your body to switch over to metabolising fat and during that period some people at least feel really bad and give up. Stick with it... once you're through that period you'll get genuine weight loss rather than just losing water and reserve carbs.

Good luck... you can do it!

Michael Thurmond's Six week body makeover. You eat 5-6 meals a day, cutting out fat, salt and sugar and the pounds literally fall off. The first time I lost 36 pounds in 6 weeks, the second time I lost another 37 pounds (also in 6 weeks). After the birth of this baby I will do it again, it's the only thing that truly works. You lose between 5-10 pounds the very first week and trust me that is enough to keep you motivated.

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.

The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.

Get started today!

Losing weight is a simple equation: if you burn more calories than you eat, the weight will come off. Start off by estimating how many calories you burn each day using the calorie calculator http://straighthealth.com/pages/tools/caloriecalclb.html This will give you an idea of how many calories to eat. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. To lose 1 pound per week you need to create a calorie deficit (burn more than you eat) of 500 calories per day. To lose 2 pounds a week, you have to double the deficit to 1000 calories per day. You can achieve this by eating less, exercising more or a combination of both.

Find an activity outdoors that you truly enjoy. For example, if you like bicycling make sure to get the most comfortable bike for your body (I suggest a recumbent trike). Also, cut down the portions you consume by 35-50%, but make sure you don't starve yourself. Drink lots and lots of plain bottled water, eliminate soda-pop with sugar. Good luck!

Celebrate Meatless Mondays by creating a meal starring beans (another weight-loss aid). You will love this sweet potato and black bean burrito.
