It is terrible and is having a very negative impact on China. Since males are valued and prized more than females, families would abort the fetus when they discover the sex to be female, or will abandon their daughter so they can try again for a boy.

This is causing several issues most notably that for every 100 females, there are 119 something males. Lots of men won't be able to find a mate. Several females are in danger of rape or kidnapping, and possibly prostitution. Also, because of the imbalance, there will be more violence among men.

What do you think about it happening in Saipan, a US protectorate where women are lured with the promise of "working in the US" and forced to work in sweat shops? They are then forced into prostitution if they can't produce enough, and when they get pregnant they are forced to get abortions. All this was sanctioned and defended time and again by Congress when it was lead by Tom Delay and other "Christian" Republicans. It's closer than you think, despite the name of the country, it's US soil.

700,000 people are killed by medication and surgery every year in the U.S. This is not such a popular fact as china but its the same principal. Its population control. The governments of the world think they are God.

I hate abortion. It is murder. Go to the following web site, all who read this, & try to tell us prolifers differently:

If they believe in abortion, they should be strapped to a chair & forced to watch. It's especially horrible to force a woman to murder her baby.

Nothing like that should be forced on a woman. Neither should she be forced to carry.

I think under international pressure, they discontinued that practice in the 90s.

Although Amnesty International is skeptical and so am I:

Keep in mind, Roe v. Wade would make that impossible here. :) Unless it's overturned -- in which case states could most certainly force abortions.

It's absolutely, 100% wrong. It gives the women involved no choice in the matter :)
