Im not sure about other branches but with the ARMY National Guard there is a GED program that goes like this:
If you have no HS diploma or GED than you can enlist (with a ASVAB score of at least 31, of course) under the GED Plus Program (there may be a new name for it now) but the NG pays you to go Little Rock AR for 2 weeks to be in a military type school setting & you earn your GED. I think its a great program & it has a very high sucess rate.
Talk to a recruiter if more answers are needed.
So in answer to your question of: Can you join the ARMY without a HS education ... Yes. & it goes for the GED too.

GED holders must score a 50 on the ASVAB( as opposed to 35 for High School Grads). if you do not have a GED, than you may not enlist without at least 15 college credits.

When I enlisted (many years ago) you had to had a high school diploma, I think they changed it now, to where you can a GED and get in...but you need a decent score on the ASVAB to get in.

NO, you cannot join any of the armed forces without having first completed your high school degree. It won't happen.
So if you're in school stay there no matter what it takes.
Completing high school tells an employer in/out of the armed forces that you have what it takes to stay with a task....It's your very first achievement in becoming an adult....If you need help see your counselor for tutors or any extra help you need to achieve this first milestone in your life.
If you get a couple of years of college behind you BEFORE you apply to any of the armed forces you can go into officiers training as well as having much greater sucess in getting into the department/job of your career choice. Best of Luck in your pursuits.JM

From my understanding, they do allow GED's but I thought there was only a certain amount of GED people allowed.

I would imagine if you are legal age. The Armed Forces are a great way to get your education paid for too.
