My uncle and his Jewish lover do this all the time. They live on Miami's north beach. It's only the two of them, so they freeze everything, including left overs and bread. Just let it thaw out and then toast in oven. Turns out all of it always taste real good.

I put it straight from freezer to toaster. If it's a whole unsliced loaf you can microwave it or put it in the oven, or leave it out until you are ready to use it.

Generally once frozen it is best if toasted or cooked as it can go mushy, if you really want it fresh do your best to get any icy bits off the outside. My mum used to make our sandwiches for school on frozen slices, which defrost in your lunch box by the time you want to eat them, and you never get stale bread, but about one in 10 would have a little soggy corner from the icicles melting.
