I have very kinky, curly, long ethnic hair. The only thing I've used that been able to straighten my hair (blow dryed and ironed) is - Baby Oil. It's amazing that my hair goes from one extreme to the other, and my hair has great shine and softness - however, it does leave it a bit greasy (however with really dark hair it's not too noticeable to the EYE). I haven't found any other product that produces the same result. Can somebody please tell me if this is bad for my hair and/or recommend something else?

By the Way... I just purchased a CHI. What can I use to aid the straightening process?

Thank you all for answering. One last thing. Should I apply the product (such as the Chi Silk Infusion mentioned) when my hair is wet and then let it dry? (please say no as it already takes me over an hour to straighten when it's dry) - or apply it when it's already dry?

I USE CHI SILK INFUSION
You can put it on when your hair is wet or dry I put it on when my hair is dry. Yes you can use it before you flat iron on your dry hair.

GOOD LUCK GIRL I'm sure you hair is gong to look greatnow that you have the CHI.(I use a SOLIA flat iron)

(I don't like the smell of CHI silk infusion so when I finish it .I'm goning to try FX Special Effects Straight and Shiny Anti-Frizz Hair Serum, but don't get me worng the chi silk infusion works GREAT but I don't like the smell thats it)

Try straightening shampoo. it should help your hair stay straight after you iron it.
