I am now losing so much weight that my skin is starting to sag and become loose. What can I do to help tighten my skin, and maybe avoid surgery to have it removed or at the very least postpne it.

You don't mention how old you are, if your fairly young your skin is elastic and you should be able to excercise to firm up...if your old then 35 the work is harder and you may have to have some finishing touchs done when your at your goal weight.

if you are losing weight the healthy way with diet and exercise you shouldnt have a problem with skin
its healthy to lose 1-2lbs a week and your skin has time to adapt- if you lose more you are not losing fat - you are losing water weight and muscle and its comming back.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
