I am so glad you posted this
I have reminded people in the past that there may be reasons for bad spelling ... like dyslexia or second language , and now this is more reason for people to think twice before correcting peoples spelling
what does it matter how something is spelled , as long as we understand what they mean

You call that guy a lot more than a pain in the neck. He's ignorant and really not worth bothering with. I'll bet the child that has known a lot of pain in their lives will be a more compassionate person and I'd much rather know that child than some stupid fool.

I call that person someone who is trying to find something to complain about and not really interested in the question at all. Some people have to answer a question, and if that person, who may misspell a word or two is speaking truth, they want to emphasis the "mistake" instead of the truth. I worked at a church once, and I misspelled a word on the powerpoint, and the Pastor would not let me live that down- however when I questioned him about something he was teaching, the following sunday he made a point to tell the whole congregation about my misspelled word in the service. To me it is a way to justify not believing truth.

No one should condemn another for poor communication skills. Point out the errors which make their writing hard to read, if you must, but don't ridicule them. I would call a guy like that insensitive, at the very least.

Well considering there is a SPELL CHECKER maybe you should use it.
Although I wasn't the one who did it, I do reserve the right to make fun of, or be made fun of, for my grammar or my spelling. Because people can only judge you on your text based typing since you are typing in text. If you cannot communicate effectively then how are you going to communicate?

There is a SPELL CHECK facility before posting your messages - there really is no excuse. But I do sympathise with you if you have had to spend loads of time in hospital.

I want to know why after all the tossers you've dealt with in the past, another identical tosser has wound you up to this extent?

Dunno, I guess you'd call a guy like that in to help you spell the word and find out it's meaning?
