My son fell a couple days ago and had to get 3 stitches in his lip. He is only 18 months old any ideas on how to clean it without having to put medicine on his lip cause I know he will digest it?

You could do a saline(salt water) rinse. It won't kill the germs, but it will clean the wound. You can pick up some sterile saline rinse at the local drug store. It's probably the safest thing you can use to clean it.

Check with your pediatrician first. But I would use some watered down peroxide on a Q-tip and just dab a little to clean out the bacteria, but not enough for him to swallow. As you dab it on,be ready to wipe off any excess (gently) with a clean cloth.

Try pouring some hydrogen peroxide on it. It helps clean out dirt and bacteria, but the advantage is that it bubbles when it touches anything organic (the bubbles are oxygen), and all that is left is water!

Get a cotton swab and apply a little bit of alcohol from your drugstore. They actually have one that doesn't hurt, so it would be perfect for your son.
