Where did you get the disk? Did it come with a piece of hardware?

"On the disk it says for windows 98/me/2000/xp" which obviously is the versions this program is compatible with.

As for "dv series" this could be a reference to Digital Video.

We need more info about the disk itself. If you are worried about viruses, make sure you have an appropriate antivirus and spyware program installed with latest updates, this should stop any unwanted processes in their tracks.

BTW, although it is probably not an OS disk, you can store four OS's on one disk. I have a Windows 2000 disk, for example, that comes with 2000, 2000 Pro, 2000 Server and 2000 Data Center.

99% guess for the is it may be the operating system drivers for hp dv series laptop...if it is a cd it cannot be an operating system because 4 operating systems can not be stored in a cd...,

that cd is for installing your operating system onto your computer. If your computer is running, and you are using it right now, you probably dont need it right now. But hold on to it, dont lose it.

this site sucks, you cant reply....
so in response to the post below me, i'll say (yeah you can, if its a dvd)
