Saying various things about the nature of life ,the universe and everything-and then 100 million people believed it and created temples to worship this Gully ,would this make it a religion or a cult?
And would it have more, or less salient truth than other "established" religions?

It would qualify as a religion if it has established places of worship, involves set rituals and is based on a mythology. I think it would be as salient a truth as any other religion given its aging process. People forget that all religious 'manuals' such as the Bible were written by humans and a religion's age doesn't, beyond all doubt prove OR disprove its hypothesis. If your new religion sticks around long enough, it will be viewed as legit as any other. Just look at Scientology...despite what people say, its very quickly turned into organised religion and it hasn't even been around that long! Good luck and send me a copy when you're done.

At first, it would start out as a cult because basically you are creating a new type of radical idea compare to other religions that are already conventional. I guess once you start making temples and people start worshipping and follow Gully's ritual, and pass on by generations to generations.... then yes it would become a religion.

If it has a god then I guess it would be a religion but I wouldn't ponder over it too much because it's not going to happen, however I do hope you have many happy hours thinking of Gully.

photograph that God is a guiding stress that provides the varieties and good judgment for the massive Bang to apply. there is potential (the Bang) even though it want actualities to purpose at. A clarification why there is order instead of chaos. even though it truly is a smooth God who works by technique of most suitable and persuading, no longer capturing lightening bolts at each body who displeases his royal highness (an theory borrowed from the Romans i imagine). So issues flow slowly, continuously in route of larger and bigger pleasant existence. in spite of each thing, the universe is God's conciseness, the reality that provides him some thing to concentrate on.

Well go ahead. If it works out you'll prove your point. If not you wasted some time. Getting the 100 million might be the sticking point.

That would be a religion... now, if Gully had children that you didn't authorize (let's name them Chris and Izzy), those would be cults.

Ask the "New Age" because that is what they've done. Doesn't change the fact that we have One God and He has given us His Word to live by and His commandments.

It would be a religion.
But as for me I will stick to the Bible since you just told me that you invented it.

If you have 100 million people, then it's no longer small enough to be considered a cult, even if other people hate it.
