Since death is just not existing, should I then not be scared of sinning anymore because I will not be tortured by demons in a firey hell?

I am just basically refering to an answer to a question where I saw a person put that when you die you are just in a form of sleep, not really existing at all in spirit form or anything.

Nobody knows what happens when we die. People have beliefs but those are not confirmed because nobody fully dead has ever come back to say this is what it is like.

For me personally, I don't think we struggle for 80+ years to die and be transformed into the heavenly things where all we do all day is worship God. This does not make sense to my head. It totally negates the 80+ years on earth, just to walk on streets of gold and thank god..Nor do I believe we sleep. We do something...I am just not sure what. I'll know when I get there.

When the Bible says a person is “sleeping” in relation to death (Luke 8:52; 1 Corinthians 15:6), it does not mean literal “sleep.” Sleeping is just a way to describe death because a dead body appears to be sleeping. The Bible tells us that the instant you die, you are taken to heaven or Hell based on whether you had received Christ as your Savior or not. For believers, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:6-8; Philippians 1:23). For unbelievers, death means everlasting punishment in Hell (Luke 16:22-23). The concept of “soul sleep” is not a Biblical doctrine. The moment we die, we face the judgment of God (Hebrews 9:27). Until the resurrection, though, there is currently a temporary heaven “Paradise” (Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 12:4) and Hell “Hades” (Revelation 1:18; 20:13-14).

In a sense, a person’s body is “sleeping” while their soul is in Paradise or Hades. This body is then “awoken” and transformed into the eternal body a person will possess for eternity. These eternal bodies is what we possess for all of eternity, whether we are in heaven or Hell. Those who were in Paradise will be sent to the New Heavens and New Earth (Revelation 21:1). Those who were in Hades will be thrown into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:11-15). These are the final, eternal destinations of all people - based entirely on whether a person had trusted Jesus Christ alone for the salvation of their sins.

Hell is not a place where you will be tortured by demons. Hell is a place where you are permanently separated from a personal, loving God that desires to bless you and receive your praise eternally. It is worse than torture, I am sure of that. Eternal loneliness and pain but not at the hands of any demon. It will be from your own mind, heart and emotions. (This is my opinion of course) I know the fire comes in somewhere too but I think that will be the best hell gets not the worst.

Why should you sin any way. Since you are dying any way. Your death is a mater of time and only God knows when be good human and what you got to lose. You may win the world with all the sins you do but at end you lose your self.

The most sinful (deviant, antisocial) people I have known are also the most hollow and unhappy. Many of them want to bring others to the state they are in because misery loves company. If you want to see hell be put in a maximum security prison for 5 years.

You are your own best or worst gift to yourself no matter what you religiously believe or don't believe.

Do you really do things or avoid doing things on the basis of your fear of punishment? Is that a good way to make moral decisions?

Those of us who do not believe in hell (or heaven, come to that) decide on the basis of what is morally valid. It takes having a certain amount of information about the likely consequences of your decisions, a set of values against which to measure those consequences, and a sense of personal responsibility.

It doesn't follow. There are lots of other reasons for not sinning. In any case, your conclusion gives too much importance to the idea of hell in the first place - it suggests you take the idea seriously.

You have the Word of God. The decision is yours. Make sure it's the right one. Eternity is a long time.

Mark 9:43-48
43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out. 45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. 47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48 where
"'their worm does not die,
and the fire is not quenched.'
(NIV)
