No matter what the religion is it won't be peaceful. People disagree and therefore attack it and then the people of the religion attack back or vise verca.
Like when i tell people that what they are doing goes against the Bible (they're christians) and they'll begin to point out all my flaws even if they don't go against the Bible like well you're ugly and it's my life and i'll do what i want. But if your'e a christian then it's not your life anymore you gave it to God, i guess people don't like it when they're caught doing something wrong, but i try to tell people out of love, and so that they know what i'm saying come from the heart and all that i want is to see them suceed with the Lord, so that they will recieve as many blessings as the Lord can pour out.
But no matter what it teaches people will disagree, and therefore in reality nothing is that peacful.

(Catechism of the Catholic Church: 2304 Respect for and development of human life require peace. Peace is not merely the absence of war, and it is not limited to maintaining a balance of powers between adversaries. Peace cannot be attained on earth without safeguarding the goods of persons, free communication among men, respect for the dignity of persons and peoples, and the assiduous practice of fraternity. Peace is "the tranquility of order." Peace is the work of justice and the effect of charity.)
------ ------ ------
As an Economist ... this definition shows why peace is not obtained at this moment in time. Separation of classes (rich vs. poor) is a major reason for war. When an elite group gets the majority of money, then we see the poor rising up against the rich. Many times cultures use “religion” as their unholy veil to justify war. Looking at the Middle East there is one of the biggest disparities of separation of classes I've ever seen in my lifetime. The men dressed in crisp white gowns, while the poor run amuck in the streets ... women in hybib's shopping at the most expensive outlets ... while other mothers are addicted to valium because of the gun noise. Huge disparity and separation of classes in this culture!!! So this makes total sense why there is "civil war" there.
Refugee's from the middle east are exodicing to surrounding regions (Germany, France, Brittan) and then isolating themselves from this culture they ran too ... which again is self-trapping them into isolation and keeping the refugee's into poverty and hindering "safe guarding of persons/goods" since the refugee's left because of poverty they only have their persons to protect.
"Free communication" (how can these cultures talk when the refugee's don't want anything to do with their new environment? In fact they watch TV that promotes cutting off communication and fellowship with their neighbors. Economically, communication is the foundation so that idea's can become reality.
"Respect for the dignity of persons and people" This includes respecting and opening dialogue between religions, laws, governments, and day-to-day living. Once an idea is approved, you need to protect what you make (roads, buildings, homes, bridges)
"The assiduous practice of fraternity" ... Okay, so how is fraternity going to happen when one culture likes to laugh and the other culture will kill those who laugh??? Fraternity is the ability to take the differences and embrace what's good, and bad but still have admiration for each other.

There are many examples. Buddhism is the one most people think of, but any religion which teaches responsibility for one's own behavior is ultimately peaceful. This goes back to the fact that almost all religions have some variation of the Golden Rule in their tradition: do yourself what you want others to do.
The witches' rede says what you do returns to you three-fold. If you do good, mazel tov. If you do harm, by the time it is multiplied by three getting back to you, it might kill or permanently maim you.

I said in one of my previous questions
whether we see Islam as a whole as peaceful or not...
if it brings peace to an individual , then it is a peaceful religion for them
Christianity is the same , for all that has been done in its name , if it brings peace to the individual then thats great
people can use a religion for the right or the wrong reasons ( any and every religion )
peace is a personal journey by whatever means bring you to it

Taoism is peaceful.
Weapons are the tools of violence;
all decent men detest them.
Weapons are the tools of fear;
a decent man will avoid them
except in the direst necessity
and, if compelled, will use them
only with the utmost restraint.
Peace is his highest value.
If the peace has been shattered,
how can he be content?
His enemies are not demons,
but human beings like himself.
He doesn't wish them personal harm.
Nor does he rejoice in victory.
How could he rejoice in victory
and delight in the slaughter of men?
He enters a battle gravely,
with sorrow and with great compassion,
as if he were attending a funeral.

A peaceful religion should teach that.......They don't have the only way, they are wise enought to know that they really have no clues as to what the creator really is, and that your goal here on earth is to evolve yourself spirutualy. I think that there are peaceful people in every religion but there is always two sides to every coin.

I have two answers for this question, one spiritual, one physical.
Spiritually a peaceful religion is one that does not invalidate other people's truth. Each person must be free to seek their own truth, and any actions or words that seek to prevent this are violent. If another person refuses to believe what you believe, you must respect that in your heart and wish them a happy life filled with their own truth.
Physically violence is inexcusable. Firstly, we have to realize that we are all immortal beings. Nothing you can do to my body will have any lasting effect on my spirit. Harming someone's body is like a jealous child who breaks another childs toy. It only represents an innability to solve a problem spiritually.

The teachings of Jesus Christ are the teachings of Love. If we were to follow His teachings as He mean't for them to be followed there would be peace through out the world.
