I met this someone is apparently one of these. When I asked her what a sadist was, she grinned and said: "You'll find out soon enough."

Someone who enjoys the pain and suffering of others, Most likely people who like to torture you. People who find it fun to see suffering in pain.

"Sadism" derives its name from Marquis de Sade, who enjoyed inflicting pain on others. Of course, pain comes in many forms; this person apparently believes in bondage! In itself it may not be a bad thing; it's the degree to which it is carried out.
After all, extreme pleasure can cause pain.
