1. Communicate better. Learn to write clearly and simply. What do you realy want here, without all the unneeeeeeeeeded voooooooooowels?

2. Smart people do poorly on tests, especially the CPR test, because of either test anxiety, over-analyzing the test, or rushing.
- Slow down.
- Actually read the question and answers.
- Eliminate the wrong answers.
- Remember what you were told.
- Use common sense- the test is written for the common person, not experts or doctors.

3. Ask for Test B. In a properly run American Red Cross CPR class, if you fail the test, you should have the option of retesting with Test B. Ask for your copy of Test A back, review what you messed up on, and then take Test B.

I've taught this class for over 700 people in the last year alone, and only a handful (about 12 people) failed the written test- usually people with poor English skills, people who ignored the classroom stuff, and the couple who just plain stressed themselves out!

Hey, hold up!
You're ranked 2nd in your class?
You have a 4.0 GPA?
What are you talking about?!
In life, it's not about your IQ. There are some people with genius IQ's but they don't work as hard as you do- so they don't go as far.
Don't worry about silly things like your IQ- as long as you work hard, you will achieve in life!
About that CPR test, take it again! Keep trying until you get it right. Maybe look into to taking some kind of review course?
The important thing is to work hard. So, stay motivated with this CPR thing. If you're as much as a hard worker as you say you are, you won't give up.

Listen to the song, Get Up by Superchick.
I think that has the perfect answer to the rest of your question.

Some people don't test well, although they are very intelligent. There are exercises you can do to help. I would talk to a trusted teacher or counselor at school about this problem.

You are very intelligent. You are smart enough to do your work at least. Listen to low volume classical music to stimulate your brain while you study.
