i am surprised you have lost that much!
sit ups DO NOT burn fat - they build muscle which makes your belly look bigger since there is more muscle underneath the layer of fat
the only fat burning exercise is cardio - 4-6 times a week for 30-50min combined with light weight training
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Sit ups aren't' going to help you lose weight if you are already at a healthy weight, which you must be fairly close to if you can do that many sit-ups, muscle actually is denser than fat so by building muscle you might even gain a little weight. What you will loose is inches.
Instead of focusing so much on weight loss, measure your waist every week (no more often) and then see what you loose, you will probably be quite happy. And shake up your abdominal routine, find some new exercises besides sit-ups (which are archaic) to do, I'm not say decease the exercise, more like do 50 sit-ups, 50 obliques, 50lower abs lifts, and fifty core lifts (those ones where you lay face down and then lift arms and legs like superman so you stomach is holding everything up). Do more but balance the routine a little more and throw some cardio in there, that's what you need for weight loss.

The problem with doing sit-ups to lose weight is, you won't. Well, you may lose a small amount, but nothing noteworthy. Sit-ups are considered an anaerobic exercise, which will build muscle but not cause you to lose much weight, at least in the abs. Increased muscle mass will increase your metabolism and cause weight loss over time, but the abs often tone up more than increase in mass, like the arms, chest, back, legs, etc would.
You will gain some muscle and tone the muscle you have, but because of the amount of time you spend doing the sit-ups (I'm guessing that it probably takes you about 10 minutes max if you are doing a couple sets or less if you are doing them all at once), you are not raising your heart rate or doing it for a prolonged period of time, 30 minutes or more (as you would with jogging, aerobics, bike riding, elliptical machine, stair climbers, walking, etc).
That is why sit-ups and crunches are considered anaerobic, as they are 'burst' type exercises-short bursts of power/energy, whereas jogging/walking, etc requires increased energy over a long period of time, raising your heart rate and metabolism. The best way to lose weight and keep it off is to make sure you are eating a healthy diet and do some form of aerobic activity for 20-30 minutes a day or every other day. Walking, jogging, bike riding, hiking, etc. Something to raise your heart rate for that period of time. Don't forget to warm-up beforehand, to help avoid strained muscles and cool down afterwards.

Be more specific. I'm sure you don't mean that you're losing 1 pound every time you do 145 sit-ups. How long did it take to lose that 1 pound? And secondly, sit-ups aren't going to help you lose that much weight. You need some form of cardio, such as running, jogging, dancing, etc.

doing situps alone isn't going to affect your weight.
I'm assuming that you're trying to get a 6 pack stomach. Well the only way to get that is to make sure your body fat % is low enough for your abs to show through.
Heres a brief plan on how to get this done. Keep your carb and fat intake very low, diet is key. Train your abs every other day and do cardio on the days you don't work your abs. If you keep that up you should start to see your abs.
Hope that helps.

sit ups are mainly to keep the stomach looking nice and toned and strenghten the ab musles, but it most def wont help you to loose weight overall! Cardio excercises are the best methods to loose weight as you need to increase your heart rate, either jogging, cycling or swimming, (20 mins a day of either or even 3 times a week) and of course sensible eating habits/diet etc

Also, remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so if you're building muscle by doing situps without doing any cardio to lose the weight, you might lose inches but your weight won't change that much.
