This sounds like a classic case of performance anxiety. It is very common, so there is no need to feel like you're strange. I sometimes have the same problem, especially when I have to give presentations before a group of people. Try relaxation and all the other things people are recommending. If they don't work, you can also talk to your physician about prescribing you a beta-blocker (a drug that basically stops the adrenaline rush) that you take 1 hr before the event that's causing your anxiety. It really helps with symptoms like trembling hands and shaky/high-pitched voice. You don't take it every day; only when you need it. I've tried it and it really helps. Good luck.

Someone mentioned practice and they had the right idea. First get a good interview book which has lots of example questions. Read these and think of an answer to every question that you could possibly be asked for the position you are applying for. Then practice in front of a mirror or better yet video tape yourself practicing. Look for problems-wringing your hands, stuttering, chewing your lips, whatever. Work on getting rid of these issues but only ONE AT A TIME. This way you won't feel overwhelmed and get discouraged. Then recruit a friend or family member or significant other to play interviewer with you. Let them critisize your technique and tape it again if you can. Go on a couple interviews for jobs you really don't care about. You will be more comfortable this way. Then try the real thing. If all this doesn't help, see a therapist for some relaxation techniques or a MD for some meds.

You know yourself best of all of them and know your capabilities and good points, just take comfort and reassurance from yourself, have confidence, wear a good suit, dress well, be neat and clean and go easy on any scents cologne etc. Do not mention anything re salary or benefits, they will tell you that info. Don't bring up hobbies, interests, etc unless they ask. Focus on what you personally can bring to the table business-wise. If you get hot, ask first before removing your jacket. Say as little as possible and follow the lead of your interviewer. Do not get chummy with the other applicants, sometimes they try to psych you out, so be polite but quiet.

I have felt the same way, even meditation didn't help. And it's so hard to concentrate when you are that nervous. To be honest, the only thing that calmed me down was tranquilizers. They really do the trick, you'll feel like a normal, calm person. Hey, I don't think it's the best way to go, but it works!

These symptoms are common with people in stressful situations. You might try learning some meditative breathing exercises. It would give you something else to dwell on during those nervous times and get you at a more even temperament.

find something to occupy your mind other than the appointment. all you are doing is working yourself up over nothing. pressure is ALL in your head. bring your favorite magazine, bring your ipod, do anything to not think about it. when you do have to talk, stand tall, look them in the eyes, and pretend they are your best friend and that you have known them your whole life. easier said than done, but with a little practice... you will interview like a pro. the worst that can happen is they say "no", and then guess what? you are right where you started... big deal.
Could be anxiety/panic attacks, in which case you need Klonopin... but will have to see a doctor to get it.

Just realize they are just a person, just like you, no better no worse, change your attitude t o something like, this is an adventure, an opportunity to learn something new, meet someone new, make a new friend, see a different point of view, relax, they may be nervous too you never know, think about how to make them feel comfortable. If all else fails imagine them in their underwear!

You have to think about it that they are also people like you.Don't be nervous because they will see it on you.
Don't be stupid acting like that because when you are nervous you are making a lot of misstakes like never when you are in the ordinary life with your friends and a family.
We say, take a little spoon of " I don't care about anything" and smile to the life. That helps, believe me.Do not drink or drugs. It will be worst like never.People do not like to take for work somebody like a drinker or drugs using. They will see it on you too.
Success.

Deep breaths. A pep talk with yourself. A warm glass of milk. Some sort of chamomile tea. Lots of different ways.

Take some Sage. It is a natural herb that will help you concentrate and feel calm. Or just picture everyone in the room naked.
