I got a program from my friend and tried to install it on my computer but half way through installing it stopped and said that the data folder for the installation wasn't in the right place on my computer. so i looked it up and it wasn't there but it was on the cd, so i copied and pasted it to the folder that it was supposed to be in and made sure everything was there but it still won't install. what else should i do?

Doesn't sound like copy protection. When asking computer questions such as this one you should always give the exact error message, the name of the program, etc... This way I have no idea what could be wrong.

It is quite possible that it is protected by DRM to prevent you from making illegal copies. If the program is copyrighted, then it may be that this is the case.

Maybe this CD was unoriginal & was copied from another or use only one times or designed for using by one computer or atlast it is maybe damaged .
