I don't normally use these, but had a few cans so I tried this the other night when we were grilling & it turned out great! Take and drain potatoes, then cut in half. Take a large piece of foil & lay potatoes in middle. Add 1 small onion, cut into slices, a few cloves of garlic minced, a few pats of butter, and salt & pepper. Close up foil into packet, sealing tightly & place on grill. Turn with tongs, til done - about 20 minutes......Open packet & layer shredded cheese on top, then place on corner of grill to keep warm til ready to serve.....Wonderful!!

My mom makes a fantastic cheese potato side dish.
Melt about a pound of Velveeta cheese in a saucepan with a little milk to make a sauce. Pour over potatoes and bake for 20-25 mins at 350. You can add onions if you want.
Very simple, but it's really good!

If they are the canned sliced potatoes you can try this. I used to make this. I had forgotten. Put in pan, add a little onion, pepper, salt, if needed, butter, and milk or cream. Heat low until bubbly. Make a roux of flour and milk, add slowly, stirring continuously until thickened. Pour into serving bowl, sprinkle a little paprika on top. It's really good. You can add other things to it if you wish or different seasons. Whatever you like.

The only thing I used canned potatoes for is hamburger soup.
Brown one pound of ground beef or turkey, drain and add one pound frozen mixed veggies, one can diced tomatoes including juice, and one can of potatoes, cubed, including juice. A cube of beef bullion is optional if you're watching salt.
Allow to simmer 1 hour, remove from heat and cool. Reheat and serve (it's best reheated).

they are great for breakfast fried potatoes, I use butter, pepper and cajun spice, with a little seasoning salt, and they cook a lot faster than regular potatoes.
