They don't care about solving the problem. They are boasting about border security triggers, but are HALFING the amount of fencing signed into law in October. There is no requirement for the visa exit tracking system already overdue to be a trigger, yet they are going to be giving so called 'temporary' visas out left and right.
What on earth made you think this was in any way intended to solve the problem?
And to someone who says they don't use assistance, hogwash.

It's gonna be alot more than that. On CNN last night they were talking about this. All of the 12-20 million illegals here after granted amnesty, citizenship, whatever farce you wanna call it, will then bring their relatives here to join them. CNN quoted a figure of more than 200 million coming within less than a decade. That many people will flood the country and tip the scales of the balance society tries to keep. That's precisely why only so many immigrants can be allowed in at a time. Hospitals, schools, prisons, all will be overwhelmed, and it will be our tax dollars to expand these services not theirs, because they won't have enough tax money invested yet for such a large endeavor.
The border needs to be secured airtight. What if Mexico were North Korea or Iran. I guarantee no one would be sneaking in then. The military would make sure of it. So it can be done it simply isn't.
The reward for breaking the immigration laws and coming here as a felon as soon as you enter the country shouldn't be amnesty or potential citizenship, it should be immediate deportation. Why reward a felon for breaking the law?
Amnesty for no illegal of any country of origin. Deport them all.

I am at a loss, I have absolutely no idea. I am sure the humanitarians are happy but we basically give these amnesty and immediately start working on the next batch of illegals looking for amnesty. The bill has not passed yet though and I think some are having some serious issues with the bill so I guess now we play the waiting game.

It doesn't it just gets more votes for the democrats because most Mexicans are liberals....Why don't people take into consideration what has happened in California and ask the perspective of the people(citizens) that have lived here for many years? We are not being heard and I never thought in a million years that I would ever feel betrayed by anything like this....
1 out of 3 Mexican students can't pass the high school exit exam and the drop out rate is sky rocketing along with gang violence and taxation...The West will never be the same just wait until they
they spread the joy over the whole country! Oh boy I can't wait!

US should implement a law against the illegal allien and their sponsors. They have modern ways of tracking alliens so why it took so long for them to deport those illegal aliens. Why not give a chance for people (especially old ones)to visit their children. They suffers too. Especially those who really miss their children. I think old people will not play hide and seek just to have a what everybody says a good life there. Not all people want to stay there. Some just go there for a visit once in a while. US is good for young and energetic people not for the older ones. I hope my letter could be an eye opener to the people of America especially the one who works in the embassy. Yes, US is a country of bread and honey but not all people want bread and honey. Some just want to see the place especially if their children and grandchildren are there. . There are some who are contented to live in their own country. All they want is just to experience the beauty of US even once in their life. I hope and pray that the President of the United States will give some people a chance to visit US. God bless America.

Here's how it COULD solve THE problem.
Let all the illegals pay a fee and a little fine, and then they get a permanent "Light Green" card. A resident alien card that does NOT allow them EVER to get CITIZENSHIP. Since they will never be able to vote on anything, the libs will drop them like so many full-grown fetuses. And our representatives would have to deal with that part of the population, not based on "How many VOTES will they give me", but rather simply on what's best for the country.

1. These people will be documented; their address, social security number, drivers' number, et al shall be in the BCIS and FBI databases.
2. They will have to pay taxes on their wages.
3. They will be deported if they commit an aggravated felony, or two crimes of moral turpitude. If they are caught coming back into this country, they face a stiff federal prison sentence.
Thus, the government will have more control of the former illegal aliens.

It would be impossible to kick all of these people out. And by the way very few use Welfare or any other means of assistance. The fact is they are here, and we must deal with that. However, I do believe that we should do more to close the border, and to cut down on illegals, but they also need to be treated as Human Beings. They are simply trying to find a better life, we should try to make sure they do it Legally.

If the problem is that they're illegal, it 'solves' the problem by defining them as legal. *poof* no problem. If the problem is that there here, obviously, it does nothing.
For instance, we could win the Iraq war by passing a bill that said we've won, and bring the troops home. Same basic idea.

It solves the problem for illegal aliens and their employers. It looks good on paper for them to be declared legal. It solves nothing else.
