Well, my question says it all. I have heard conflicting stories about how Hong Kong has a lower salary or that in Canada, the taxes are very high. I know it is true but what's the actual truth?

A lot depends on the cost of living and housing. For example I live in the US but work a lot in Norway. The Norwegians came a hell of a lot more than I do yearly, but the cost of living and the socialist government take a good chuck of that way. A easy way to compare would be to look at apartment ,gasoline, cigarette and food prices. Also look at what your tax obligation in HK would be compared to Canada. See links below and see if the help you in this.

i thin that the hong kong salary might be higher but then the living expenses there are pretty high. So its kinda evens. So i guess they are about the same. The question now is : which place do you like better?
