According to Genesis, women must experience painful childbirth to pay for the crimes of Eve. Does modern medicine go against God's plan?

I ask because in the past, it was considered a crime to help women in labor cope with pain.

According to the bible you shouldn't be wearing that cotton-polyester shirt, either. Mixing two fibers into a single woven cloth was also considered an abomination. Honestly, it was probably relevant when it was written, but that was long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away. There is still a lot of beautiful, timeless stuff in the bible, but can we stop taking driving directions from people who lived before there were automobiles and pavement?

Is it a crime against God's plan to prolong a life through artificial means?
Is it an abomination to put someone on a ventilator to keep them alive, if the Christian God has decided it's their time to die?
Hmm. Makes me wonder.
Some women can't give birth the normal way, and need c-sections to be able to deliver. And epidurals are just...necessary.

c sections are a must for emergency's. Pain medications during labor is a must if your that sensitive to pain. Some woman can have babies without the drugs.

My mother didn't escape pain when she had me via C-section... what are you going on about? She was still in labor for what probably seemed like eternity, and pains still break through pain meds... you can't take pain meds forever. I learned THAT the hard way with my own surgery... not related to having kids.

No I don't think so, have you ever experienced child birth? I have with and without epidural and pain was involved in both.

No and they sure do hurt. God did increase the pain of child birth ALOT, but then he redeemed himself and invented Anesthesiologists.
