ok this will sound weird, but...
my girlfriend recently said she was fat, and needed to diet. she has lost a little weight, and she seems okay, but she keeps feeding people.
she always brings in cookies and cake from home, and gives it all away to me and her friends. she will have none herself. she also always bakes stuff, which she never eats.
when i tell her i'm full-up with food, she gets really mad and says 'why wont you eat!? you're not anorexic, are you?'
i am definitely not, i am just naturally slim built.
its really worrying. is there a name for this condition? she gets furious when people reject her food. she also loves to smell food, but never eat it.
i'm a bit worried. any advice?

There is no really separating OCD and anorexia. In a way, they are the same because an anorexic is obsessed with her weight. Or with food- which is another thing you are seeing.

There's really no helping her until she is ready to be helped. But you can try having a heart-to-heart talk with her about your concerns.

Good luck.

It does sound like an eating disorder. Most often an eating disorder does not follow all the symptoms of anorexia or bulimia but falls somewhere in between. Luckily most can be successfully treated with anti-depressants especially if they are caught early on. Please encourage her to see a doctor and try to find one that specializes in eating disorders.

Every woman with an eating disorder has her own "quirks". She sounds like she definitely has food issues. If she gets to an unhealthy weight or continues to worsen with this, she needs to see a therapist, but it is important that they are specifically trained in eating disorders.
