Survived by making war with neighbors, taking them as slaves, raping their women, punishing disobediance with death (including child), placed very little emphasis on knowledge, considered women to be property, and considered all outsiders to be arrogant and worthy of death... what do you think your god would look like?

If you lived in a society that treated people as equals, no one was the property of anyone else, making war was considered wrong because it disturbed the peace, learning about the natural world and everything in it was considered virtuous, punishment was dealt in a manner that reprimands and promotes better future behavior or separation from the society (as killing was never an option), and outsiders were viewed as resources from which greater knowledge and greater good could be gained... what would your god look like?

Which god would be more peaceful? Which would you rather serve? Would you ever take the less peaceful god and bring it into your society? Why?

If I believed in the first one the only reason I would make it law would be for my own selfish, power-hungry, manipulative ,capricious reasons to cause maximum harm and damage to every soul on this earth for thousands of years.

If I believed in the second one I would be a person with a brain and a love for everything and everyone with a thirst for more and more knowledge.

I would worship neither because I don't worship anything. But the second one would be the closest to what I find to be most beneficial to all. Peace is coming.

They did stay in tribes for the time of Europe. in truth the Scots lived in clans and the Gauls lived in thousands of small tribes till now they have been conquered by technique of the Romans. Tribalism resulted in Europe on the introduction of empire development. however the Gauls, Saxons, Gaels, Celts, Normans, Franks, Scots, Anglos, Vandals and Teutons are between a number of the tribes in historical Europe.

Doesn't matter what we think someone else would rather serve... you can only educate one side or the other to accept or not, they have to make up their OWN minds. People are people first and basically a sum of the causes and conditions of their life, i.e. upbringing, religion, clan, etc. and some can only function as well as their brain and mind will let them. If we could take an eraser and say, "okay everybody has to accept MY version of altruism, wisdom and peace" who's to say that MY version is what another is going to even UNDERSTAND, let alone accept?

That first tribe is prettu much what we have now in the US so I guess that God looks a lot like the Christian God.

I'll take the second society please, their God must look exactly like the one I believe in.

Well, I don't really know what God would look like. Since the people are really the only variables and not the god. Society looks like what the people make it; not God.

Also, to even entertain worshipping such a being would be idolatrous. Making a god that suits are wishes is the same as making idols.

Killer question, I would worship that second god because it sounds like it cares more about it's creation than being worshipped - like any good parent would
