Fudge is a candy based on butter and sugar. Chocolate is one flavor of fudge. When you see fudge listed as in fudge cake - it is meant to describe the buttery sweetness and a gooey texture - like a fudge. Hope this make sense...

fudge isn't chocolate its a type of confectionery that can come in chocolate flavour as well, its very sweet and buttery and very very nice. the Scottish are the best at making it, so if you;re in Scotland make sure you don't miss out on buying a pack of local fudge! the whisky or brandy flavours are the most recommended....

1st of all,no question is stupid. It's how we learn.
"Fudge" in the U.S. is usually understood to be chocolate. In fact, the word fudge is used on packaging of cakes and brownies with "extra" chocolate flavoring or with fluid chocolate in the mixture.

Hope I helped out!

Fudge is a confection which delights the mouth like chocolate, it comes in many flavours; chocolate, rum and raison, brandy, vanilla etc. etc.

Fudge is firm to eat, but not hard, nor is it soft, it has a similar texture to room temprature cheddar cheese when you break it.
