You made the point, that this is a country of immigrants and as such we should be tolerant of others wanting to come in. I am of course saying that we should not controlled our borders, but for those who have been here and work and have families here, we should legalize them.

Every country started from somewhere...I am not an immigrant- I am an American citizen, neither are my parents, grandparents, great grandparents, great great grandparents, etc...they are/were all American Citizens... my ancestors fought and died for this country so that I (their future generation) will have this great country that I live in. There was no country here before my ancestors got here, it was only a piece of land- they fought for it, they knew what they wanted and built this country with their blood, sweat, and tears.... I'm sure somewhere down the line, there were immigrants in my family tree, but I don't know about it... I was taught to love, honor, and respect my country and appreciate everything that my ancestors did and gave up for me to live here.

Let's see would I go to Scotland, Ireland, England, Germany, France, Belgium? That is where my ancestors came from. Which one would I pick?

I don't think that would work. My ancestors came here legally based on the laws of the time. Those coming here legally should have no problem those come ILLEGALLY need to understand this is a land of laws and that we will enforce our laws. The bill offered in Congress is very generous. We could just round people up and dump them across the Southern border and shoot anyone who tries to cross back. Many countries would do just that.

Well, since my ancestry includes Britain, Scotland, Germany, Native American(Lumbee Tribe), Ireland and France, which country would I go to? Guess what, I have researched my ancestry. My first European ancestor came here in 1587 way BEFORE there were immigration laws!

Why bother going to a screwed up place like England. I want to give Canada back to the Indians and move to another solar system.

Just think nice clean planet with out insane Americans, Muslim's, Jew's, Christians or North Koreans.

What about the many Americans of mixxed ancestry, would they be disected and proporitional bits of thier bodies repatriated?

Immigration is not something your genes do, it's something you do. If you stay in the country you were born in, you are not an immigrant. You can not 'go back' to a country you have never been to. 'Heritage' is nice, but it's not a basis for living your life. Saying that it should be is simply racism.

Well...that would leave the REAL Americans now wouldn't it? I've always been intrigued by those who get upset about the infusion of other languages into our society. They act as if English is the original language of this land...duuuuh! Which language should be the official language?...Souix, Cammanche, Appache, ...take your pick, but you can be sure the origianl wasn't English!!

Great, all of the Americas allowed to be a human free nature preserve. Let me get my ticket to Norway, but you lead the way.

Addition, to make things easier, how about everyone, everywhere just go back to Africa? Since that iis where we all came from originally.

I believe that your question is completely harmless and merely hypothetical. I am sure many of us do know the origins of our ancestry, but, what we are today are representative of all the good that this country has to offer and these knee jerk reactions are discouraging and unnecessary.
