I have 3 kids and the only way I know is to have someone hold their arm while I tweeze it out. I read somewhere just recently that if you put elmer's glue over it and wait until it hardens, and the peel it off, it will bring the splinter out. I have not had a chance to try this, but it seems like the kid would be focused on the glue and make it easier if nothing else.

Good luck

I don't know if you have ever heard of "Bag Balm" but it comes in a green square metal container with a pic of a cow. It was originally used for sore cow utters but it is now found to be the magic cure for quite a few things. If you put some on a band-aid and leave it over night, it will usually draw the splinter out. It also works good for diaper rash, jock itch and dry skin. You can find it right a Walmart. The stuff is amazing!

Start by soaking the finger in warm water. That'll help bring the splinter to the surface. Then it's just gentle with tweezers. Try putting on the TV to distract him.

Get his favorite candy to distract him or maybe let him play with your cel phone or something that's normally off limits. You could bribe him too! I'm not kidding! I've done it before if it involves a medical issue. If you don't get it out it could fester and get infected!

I'm sorry for your kiddo and best of luck!

Either have someone help you hold him down and hold his hand still, or give him an ice cube to hang on to to help numb the finger. Then find a new toy to give him if he settles down enough to let you get it out.

GOOD LUCK!!! That's one of the hardest things a parent has to deal with. All I can suggest is getting underneath it and pinching fairly hard....it kinda numbs the area and then get in and out quickly. There really is no easy way. ;-(

soak it in water for awhile and then try the tweezers again. explain what they are for and that they will remove it and make it feel better.

I would do offer him something fun to do and maybe even get him in a nice warm bath so it can work its way out.
