12 is the standard number, but i believe that 6 names occur in all 4 Gospels.
However Peter and the Sons of Zebedee(James and John) are often said to be present at the major events, or named in 'addition to the rest of the 12'

There were 12 apostles at the last supper. mary and marymaglen was there to but they are not apostles. These 12 were his closes friends.It will tell you all you need to now in the Bible.Try reading it sometime.
