The starving children on those commercials are actors and that is a movie setting. the money contributed goes into this organization that pays the CEO"S at the top fantastic wages.
For what it costs to put on that commercial you could feed every starving kid in the world. The problem is not money but bad government. Unscrouplous people are not above using that to get you to send money. There is enough food and money to feed starving out there it is getting it to them that is
the problem

No. I support a boy in Haiti named Evans. I also go to the orphanage where he lives (1 x year) and help out as well as go w /a group & purchase food for poor villiages. Everyone should help poor starving children in some way. It is only $25 per month.

Dateline and 60 Minutes about once a year do a story on charities like those. Much of the money. a high percentage of every dollar goes to fundraisers and not the people needing it.

Better to find someone who really needs something and do it with as much secrecy as you can. Then there is no one who feels guilt or shame. Tell no one. It is nobodies business what you do but yourself.

If you don't send in money for the TV commercials, you're turning the dial and depriving the professional fundraisers, marketteers and scam artists of their rolexes and corvettes. Do you really think that most of the money goes anywhere but their pockets?

Find a reputable local church or charity, where you can see for yourself that your donations is actually being used for the claimed purpose.

"Turning the other cheek" is in reference to what a christian's attitude should be when we have been wronged. In other words, forgive! If you are financially able and you know the Lord has placed something/someone on your heart, you should give. In return, He will bless you. You CAN'T outgive God. To receive a blessing is to be a blessing

Unfortunatley, a good portion of donations get embezzled by crooked acountants like my ex girlfriends dad who stole from the church and from the Girl Scouts. If they don't get it then some guerilla militant group steals it.

I love Compassion International!! Everyone who can should sponsor a child through their organization. For 32 US dollars per month, you can really improve a child's life.

Why aren't pro-lifers putting their pro-life money where their pro-life mouths are? Adopt those poor, starving children, bring them into your homes, and give them a better life. Anything less is hypocricy.

Survival of the fullest, I guess. No, there are enough people here that need help.

It does not affect me. It does not make me feel guilty. It sickens me that their govts do not try to help them, like with birth control, for one thing.
