So they get to be citizens just because they're here? I wonder if any terrorist have migrated past the Mexican border to blend in with them.

The proposed Amnesty bill would give instant legal status to every illegal currently in the US, all they have to do is pay off a 5000 dollar fine over the next 8 years. They could then progress to premanent residency and citizenship, but, only after certain border-security benchmarks have been met. Since those benchmarks will never be met (just like with the last amnesty) that special 'temporary' legal status will go on indefinitely.
Half of the Ft. Dix conspirators did just that, so yes, terrorists have used the flood of illegals for cover, and immigration violations will not be useable to help track down, pressure, or arrest suspected terrorists who are currently here illegally.

Amnesty would be giving a chance for these hard working individuals to continue working and providing for their families legally as well as contributing to the countries economy.
As for terrorist crossing the Mexican border: Example, the hijackers form 9/11, how did they get here? The US let them in legally, they didn't have to work extra and cross the border, it was given to them! Anyone who has money can come here legally that's how terrorrist will continue to get in! I don't think they're stupid enough to risk everything and getting caught.

Amnesty would make illegals happy and will be a proof that the USA cannot abide by its own immigration laws.
Amnesty is not the solution, is the beggining of a new era with even more illegals.

The get to jump ahead of all the people that have been waiting in line for years. The fact that they have broken the law doesn't matter. They get more benefits that they already are getting. They don't have to worry about deportation. They get to bring over million of family members. American will go bankrupt!
AND, the next crop of illegal aliens will start arriving for the next round of amnesty.

Amnesty means forgiveness for the crime of coming here illegally. A popular euphemism now is "a path to citizenship".
