It is because of the new regenerated (born-again) spirit that one can possess these qualities consistently during a life time.

I'm trying to get "walking in the Spirit" working in my life; I get better every day through our living connection with Christ. One thing is certain, I am not going to achieve practical righteouness through my natural strength, called "the flesh"/sarx in Paul's letters.

Surely that is true of all christians? We can't really do anything other than "dead works" even if we are able through our natural skill to make "a fair show in the flesh", if we strive to set lists of good behaviour in our sight without relying on God. "Abide in Me and you shall bear much fruit".

Do you and I know the same Jesus?
Matthew 23:29-33
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets.
Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers.
Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Where evil is found where ever error that purports to be truth a Christian must lift their voice and stand against it. If we just let it pass in the name of having mercy, or maintaining calmness, we are not following in the footprints of Jesus.. Jim

An interesting question. Recently we read through Mattew and my daughter looked up at me and said. "Wow, thats not the Yahshua I keep hearing about." Now the Yahshua she keeps hearing about is the one that you cited above. The one she saw was the man who told Peter 'Get behind me Satan" Called the gentile woman a dog overturned the money changers tables and constantly derided the pharisees calling them children of the devil, vipers and hypocrites at every turn.

He didn't soft peddle his beliefs. He was all the things you said above but he also didn't walk around with his hands folded and a saintly look on his face all the time. He answered people according to situation and sometimes that required him to be less than mousy. I like my Yahshua better than your Jesus. My Yahshua was a real man with real passion and real zeal.

You left out obedience to the Father's Law, which is basically what all the above attributes should lead to.

Yashua was a Torah observant Jew. The Torah defines sin, how can we do any of the things on your list if we do not know what sin is?

So, if you truly want to walk as the Messiah did, and does, then you need to add observance of the 7th Day Sabbath and the Biblical Holy Days to your list. You also need to add advoidance of unclean foods as defined by the Bible.

Touchy feelgood religion will not cut it when the One who died a horrible death for our sins returns.

Ec 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

AMEN, sister- this is so true- we do not only just have to put on the clothes of righteousness, we need to "kill" anything that is not of Christ. Christianity is truth and grace combined. Let us strive to live that new life in Christ, by the power of His Spirit. Maybe if we did more unbelievers would come to Him.

"not be pushy" - will you then explain to me why Jesus picked up a whip and drove the people out of the temple - was He being pushy - He was tired of people making money off of God, He was being EXTREMELY pushy.

You obviously have not read or studied the Word God left for us to read.

This is your interpretation, sweetie. What makes or breaks a "Christian" is a new heart, regeneration. It has never been, nor will it ever be, deeds.
