I'm looking for a more reliable car. I'm checking out this civic tonight - what are people's opinions? Does anyone own this model? Asking price is right around 7,000 w/65,000 mi on it. Is this reasonable?

I did a Carfax report on it and it looks like its been in a couple fender benders. How much does this affect the car's performance? Is it still worth looking into?

Regarding the fender benders -- did the seller have the car properly repaired after each incident, and does he have the paperwork to confirm this? Or did he just pocket the insurance money? I would definitely have the car inspected by a mechanic before buying. They can put the car on a lift and inspect for any damage not apparent from the exterior, such as damage to the frame, which can be expensive to repair.

P.S. Otherwise, $7000 sounds like an excellent price to me. Those cars went for around $18-19k brand new, so you are saving $11k by giving up 5 years and 65k miles -- not bad at all.

It's a resonable offer and it's a great car. It's just that its styling isn't a standout; it's not as good as the 2007 Honda Civic EX.

i looked at kbb.com and for a 02' 3 door coupe, automatic trasnimission with 68k miles and in good conditions it should cost $11k.
If the one you saw is asking $7k and automatic, then it is a great price!
here check it out yourself:
www.kbb.com and click on used car values.
Good find! i'll take it !
