When a Christian judges them as one big group...and yet, they do that to us every day all the time? Just curious...getting a little sick of people saying, "You can't generalize a whole group of people by one person's comment"...you do it to us on a consistant basis. Cry me a river.

Why should you be any different? Are you special or something?

Abetterfate, I am a Christian, but I am not a doormat. I stand up for myself and I am sick of you guys pulling the "don't generalize" crap (lookie there the other half of piss)...when you do the same thing. You call us hypocrites!

Abetterfate, if you can't take it, don't dish it out. You wanted this reaction because if you didn't you wouldn't have made that snyde little comment about how "good little Christian girls"...I'm not good and I am not Jesus, not even close. The ignorance of the Atheists on this site lit the fire to my tampon. Thanks for asking ;oP.

I always use the words "some", "most", or "many" when describing a group. It saves me from being accused of stereotyping the entire group because I never use the word "all" or make a claim that seems to include "all" of a group such as the sentence "Why do Atheists piss and moan" which doesn't use the words "some", "most", or "many" and so it is a stereotype which is something most Christians do to Atheists and yet I don't fit into that stereotype. Why is that?

While there are certainly people who generalize on both sides, most of us Theists and Atheists use language that can be interpreted as a generalization only because we specifically didn't say who we were addressing, ex. Why do Christians/Atheists piss and moan.

2007-05-18 07:32:34 · answer #3 · answered by Anonymous · 4 1

The reason that I piss, is because of all those unoriginal Christian questions. I drink too much because of that.

I moan during pre-marital sex usually.

I never do both at the same time. That would be weird.

For the rest, generalize whatever you want. I honestly don't mind. People are way too easily offended in this section.

tsk tsk.. are you judging atheists as one big group?

I answer questions honestly. If the answer happens to be a negative one, or "pissing and moaning" as you call it, so be it. It tends to be relative to the question.

Now "cry me a river", that is a very telling phrase. It generally means the speaker is unsympathetic to the anguish of others. Not at all a virtue. I think you need a hug! (((stakekawa))) Better? :)

LOL... your immaturity is entertaining :)

That's usually the Christians department.

I have seen several Christians on here today with "cry me a river" and the persecution complex.

You are generalising yourself anyway aren't you.

Generalizations are done all the time, both here and in the outside world. Just grit your teeth and bear with it.

Atheists "piss and moan" because they, like Christians, are human.

wow ... you certainly are doing allot of pissing and moaning for someone who doesn't like it

open mindedness means changing the way YOU think about things ... not trying to convince everyone else to think like you
