Actually they do demand change in Mexico....You just never hear about it here....I visit Mexico City about three times a year....
Did you know people protest daily in Mexico City? People from all over Mexico, they are called "campesinos" or peasants, come to Mexico City, D.F to protest and have their voice heard in the capital, so maybe something will get done......They shut down major avenues downtown, and that is no easy task with a population of over 22 million.....Every time I go visit there, I see protestors protesting some unfair practice the govt. is allowing or inflicting on its people at the Zocalo (downtown plaza), some even camp out there for days protesting....
They don't allow guns in Mexico, people just can't attack the govt. they would be slaughtered, so all they can do is have peaceful protests.....
I would like to see you in a place like Mexico, grow a spine, you would so dead....They have gun control for a reason....

I've been to Mexico about twenty times. If I raised my USA flag and marched in the Zocalo of Mexico City, demanding my " rights", my butt would be rotting in a Mexican jail for years.
Right now I would not travel in Mexico. The gangs are over running the border towns and even parts of the interior as well as the tourist resorts. The Mexican people are afraid. The corrupt policia for years have kept them in fear, and now the war gang lords. Anyone who even tries to organize disappears pretty quickly in the deserts near La Paz. They do not have the right to assemble that Americans have. You are correct in Mexico's rich natural resources. They do have a heathy bite in international trade, including oil, but then there's that corrupt government taking bribes and handing out shady contracts.

That would work. Why don't we do the same..... Let's get rid of all the corrupt people in the government. Well let's see... There goes Bush, oh a Chaney, oh and half of congress and the house. Well look at that all we have left is a secretary... What she slept with Bush well there she goes too.
Why don't we help Mexico as much as we help every other country that has bombed us or been to war with us or is poor like Mexico. If we stopped helping everyone else in the world and concentrated on our own problems than it would be possible.

i heard a very smart person being interviewed...they said there are two classes in Mexico that never intermingle, and has such a rigid caste system that it has endured for centuries.
the ruling elite are of 'pure' spanish-castillian blood. they have not mingled with the local indian blood. they hold all the cards, rig all the elections, run the policia overseers.
the lower class are mixed-race with indian blood. they are the workers. these are the illegals...and Mexico would rather have them leave Mexico than to foment revolution...an event that Mexico needs badly...they need a good enema to clear out the corruption at the top, and allow those with enough gumption and backbone to reshape their country, instead of leaving it to come here.
we need to stop employing them here. don't hire them to rake leaves or pick up trash. don't allow them in traffic, shut doors in their faces, step in front of them in lines...they are not supposed to be here.
our gov't fears another latin revolution like cuba...and they're willing to allow this invasion as the lesser of two evils.
since the govt won't fix it, let;s fix it ourselves.

Well, after Calderon stole the recent election millions of protesters and supporters of Lopez Obredor took to the streets for months, but to no avail. The only way politics and society will change in Mexico is through revolution. Their ruling class is far too powerful and ruthless to allow the distribution of opportunity and capital necessary to make it a productive country.
If we think we have political problems here, they pale by comparison to Mexico.

Because they stand a better chance of getting their demands met in the US.
At least 2 towns in California that I know of have declared themselves immigrant reserves. Who will they be harboring next?

They want the easy way out, folks who say they will get beat and or dissapear, well how the hell do you think this country was made? Do you think the Britts were easy on the folks who wanted to start their own country? Let me remember, I think we went to war to boot England out and start America!
Those who come here illegally could care less about us, the laws, all they care about is getting paid.. they do not want to make their country better.

Well maybe they think just like the pilgrims. Who decided to get on the mayflower and steal other people's land.
Instead of fighting their own government.
