Just look south of the border for the answer. They live in a third world country, which they have not improved upon very much. Now, look north of the border to a similar environment. What did Americans accomplish with similar terrain, climate etc? San Diego seems pretty nice to me. The areas north of the border that are bad are the ones full of illegals. I don't want to go on a tirade here, but illegal means illegals. They are already criminals despite their claim, since they have already committed a crime. Remember, for every hard-working illegal, there is a wife with 5 anchor babies collecting taxpayer funded aid in the form of welfare, food stamps, etc. Also, look at our health care system. How much cheaper would health care be if our emergency rooms were not full of illegals who get the care they need and then run without paying?? Well, I'm stopping here since I don't want 5 pages of text.

It depends on what proportion of the hispanic population has Americanized. If, as with every prior immigrant group, the second and subsequent generations assimilate, it won't be much of a problem. Maybe the legally mandated discrimination against Americans of european descent will even finally end. OTOH, if the trend towards placing ethnicity or national origin /before/ American citizenship continues, and not only do immigrants and thier children not Americanize, but instead, lead many Hispanic-Americans to 'Latinize' in seeking out thier roots, the country could change completely - probably in unforseen ways.

The US is also paid for by its citizens and when anybody comes in illegally (not just hispanics) and taxes are avoided, its creating higher taxes for everyone else, we now dont have to only support our selves but the rest of the population who desides they want to beat the system. Americans are also to blame for the issue, because we look for these imigrants for cheaper labor, therefore creating a demand for them to be here. In that process they can avoid payroll taxes, pay cheaper labor rates and pad their (our) pockets a little more. I dont think they should be removed from the country when found, but should go through a school designed to become an american citizen and have a fine to pay for their avoidance of our taxation system to be put in full force to improve our countries state of being. As well as enter a "probation" atmosphere for the first 2 years after being caught and passing a citizenship course, to be looked after like we do criminals, to make sure they are up to date with taxes, and are law abiding citizens. The great U S of A was built on the principal of being a melting pot, that foundation shouldnt be changed, it should however be enforced, encouraging work is encouraging economic well being. With the additional federal income, we could rehabilitate our social security system, improve the way we look after our elders and once again be a country to set the pace in economics.... more workers = more taxes = lower rate individually because of more people to divide it between (a good dream but will never happen) anyway, also with more workers you have more spending thus creating more demand for product more demand for employment....... lets face it, these are just dreams, the world as we know it will continue its course through time...... a train to far out of control to try and regain it.....

No they are coming in fast but they still only compromise about 14.7% of the population. All ethnic groups combined, maybe. The US isn't going to last too much longer, the left wing radicals, and infiltrated commies like the ACLU have almost completely destroyed it from within. I'd give it another couple of years then the whole thing will collapse.

Well, actually US is a free country for any immigrants who want to come over and live. US will always be US regardless of sex, race, or religion. That is what this country is all about. I hope you do not think US is about all white people or black people or Christian or Islam, etc, etc.
