Not the average christian, which I respect, I'm taling about the "Stem cell research is wrong blah blah blah.." and "Women dont have the right to decide what to do with their bodies.. blah blah" and "We need all little kids to be brainwashed to our way of thinking from a young age despite their parents' wishes, and thus need mandatory prayer time in school, and the comandments scribbled on every available surface" Doesnt it make you wish they'd finally get that maybe what's right for one isnt right for all. Especially with stem cell research. If they'd ever watched a loved one die of lou gehrig's disease or Parkinsons maybe they wouldnt be so judgemental (I pray that they never do, but I also hope they open their eyes)
Opinions (no flaming please)

They only bother me when they try to legislate their beliefs. I'll support anyone's right to hold beliefs -- but when they try to pass laws making the teaching of evolution illegal, or to post the Ten Commandments in classrooms or to take away a woman's right to end a pregnancy -- then I will stand up to them.
I prefer to call them Christian Extremists rather than overzealous, though.

They do upset me. they do becuase they can't think about anyhting without consulting the bible or a minister/priest/etc. there's nothign wrong with consulting/reading, but people need to think ofr themselves and figure things out for themselves. I'm agnostic, I like the sepration of church and state, but if a kid wants to pray in school I don't care. And I don't think it is outlawed in school, I beleive only school sponsored prayer is what the debate is about. And as far as having the ten commandments everywhere and signs of your faith all over, I think that if you have to surround yourself by your faith, then you have a pretty weak faith yourself.

Not really.
I have been called some pretty nasty things by over-zealous Christians because of my religion and my more socially liberal stance on certain issues.
I have a very thick skin and take things in stride. You HAVE to, in the South where I live. And you need to have a REALLY good sense of humor.
But when it comes to directly interferring with me and my family or with my fundamental freedoms and rights, that is where I draw the line and the gloves come off.

No It don't bother me. I believe what God wants me to believe. His words changes for no one. When prayer was in school you did not see the killing that goes on today. I am thankful my children are in a school where God or his word has never been thrown out. Thank God for small schools and thank God for Christians that have a backbone to stand for the word of God. Mary took a little lamb to school and it was against the rules, Thank god my kids can take "Gods lamb" with them and he is welcomed with open arms. I am against all that you mentioned because it is against God. I also feel that people have the right to chose they are the ones to suffer the consequences if they are wrong not me. Their blood is off my hands when I let them know what God expects.

I totally agree. They don't upset me as much as frustrate the hell out of me. I just wish they would open their minds a little and finally understand their point of view is their own and STOP trying to force it on everyone else. I think that's why a lot of atheists are here regularly...to keep these crazy folk in check.

Very much, there are many that use the name of God for there own gain. Like the crazy army of god, the jonestown guy all these crazy people slander the name of God. God is loving, accepting, and forgiving. Unfortunatly there are many people that want nothing to do with Him because of men.

I'm only upset by them when their rhetoric gets translated into a law. The rest of the time thet're just annoying and scarey. Did anybody see that lady who killed her kids because she felt she was a bad mother and her kids would eventually turn out to be bad, so she killed them while they were young and innocent enough for god to "take them home to heaven"? According to the bible, it made perfect sense, spooky.
