We've been together for about a year. We're both 30. I've never really lived anywhere else and this would be the perfect opportunity. He does'nt want to move now, he says maybe in about 5 years! I've even suggested moving somewhere else in the state but he wants to stay in the same area. By, the way we don't live together yet.

I'm not asking him to move now, I'm talking about next summer. But I wanted him to have time to think about it. He has said on many occassions that he wants us to get married. One of the reasons he says he doesnt want to go is because he won't know anyone.

I should have added that he wants us to buy a house here, so he does want us to live together just no out of state.

If I were you, I would move. You guys aren't that serious yet since ur not living together... How are you going to feel in a year when you guys aren't together anymore and you feel like you made a huge mistake by not taking this opportunity to move?? This is something that you have to do for yourself, and if he is going to be part of the package, then thats great, but if he's not, you will move on and find someone else that will make you happy!!! first of all you've only been together a year.. and you don't live together.
How far away in state are you talking? 30 min away or 4 hours?
You are asking him to A. Move in with a woman he's not lived with before and B. relocate with her
So he would be living with someone new, in a new place.. I wouldn't do it either.
If you want to move to another town that's near by do it, and make the drive to see him. if you really want to go far away, decide which is more important to you travel or however you feel about this man.

I would go. You have only been together for a year, and relocating might you get you farther in life. He probably will never be ready to move away from where he lives at that age. Go for your dreams move on there are other guys out there.

Go where the money is. Who has the best opportunities, you or him? Do you plan to marry? Have children? One career or two? Take some trips together, and talk. You shouldn't move for no reason, and he shouldn't stay just for no reason.

I wouldn't let him hold me back. Do what makes you happy. You only live once. If things don't work out than it wasn't meant to be.
