Well, it sounds like a mental illness is what you are dealing with. It is not normal to go out if you are not cleaned up. Her thought may not be inclined to your guidance, as she is comfortable in her "normal" agenda.

Hi Midge,
Maybe a handyman from the Church could go to her home and install some safety items to her shower, some bars for her to hold to, or a shower hose that can connect to the shower head that she can take down and hold while she sits on a shower stool. I have even seen bathtubs that have doors that open on the side so that you don't have to step over the side. Hope this helps.
God bless,
Stanbo

Oh she is older! Any kids? How about county home health service? Older people have difficulty bathing and also, are embarrassed about that. Call the county Home Health and maybe they could send someone out to help clean up and get her bathed. Good luck!

If she's really afraid of falling at home, band together and get up the funds to get her one of those systems that she can press a button and it alerts people who can immediately come and help her... one such company is LifeAlert, and there are others. Just one suggestion.

Has any one told her she is nasty. If she lives near Albany N.Y. I will put safety bars in her shower for free. Take up a special nasty collection, and get her a shower chair, and one of them hose things.

Greetings,
Just quote this to her; cleanliness is next to Godliness. Also you might ask her if she is afraid then how can she say that she fully trusts in God to take care of her. If a sparrow cannot fall unless God wills it won't he do the same or more for us if we completely trust in Him?
Where is the faith in that? I mean God is in control of everything that happens and if you don't believe that then you need to check your reason for claiming to be a Christian.

Perhaps a good idea could be to put a chair in the bathroom so she doesn't fall...if that's the problem.

That would be a hard one! I would be honest with her, tell her it smells in her home, and that she needs to bathe. Tell her you care too much to see her become sloth.
Yikes!

Maybe Chuck Norris touched her and she doesn't want to wash him off.
Chuck Norris' tears can cure cancer, you know.
