Some of the 'children' on the news tonight, didn't look like children to me. But, they know the rules. 'I'm 15...gonna prove I'me not ?. Just give me the Council flat, fully furnished, £100 for clothes, and my benefits, then p*** off'.

Generally speaking, Romanians cost us nothing because they are not allowed to claim benefits; as they are not allowed to work either, they exist from odd jobs, £2 an hour stuff, begging, etc. Yes, some families have sent their youngsters here, believing that they will be supported at public expense. This is in fact true, but only until they can be returned to an appropriate adult in Romania. I think we can be fairly confident that the UK is talking to the Romanian authorities about how to return them to Romania if the families deny all knowledge of them. It's a complete pain for Slough, but not really a huge deal on the national level. A few Gypsies are trying to scam the benefits system; they will get short shrift. No big deal.
BTW Romani and Romanian are completely different things; it just so happens that a lot of Roma are from Romania.

I enjoyed your answer from 'Mr Sept' it lightened the tone a bit!
Where to start? It has been said that the beginning is a good spot, so what do you really know about true Romani Gypsies?
Just a guess but I will venture to say "Not a lot" so please check them out.
As for the question of immigration of any folk into UK , (not just into slough) I honestly cant find enough info to make a good judgement on what, if anything , it is costing the Brits so I don't intend to have a little rant on that subject!
I can only say, the system is here to stay, we in the UK are fast becoming a multiculturalism society, in fact the world is, learn to live with it.
Are you really one of these folk that think immigrants come to the UK and their pockets are then being filled with money etc etc?
Have you really looked at both sides of the picture, try it you may even find it interesting.

There are 2 substantial communities of gypsies interior the united kingdom. The travellers used to go approximately with horse drawn caravans, residing on waste grounds and making a meagre residing by utilising doing residing house upkeep and advertising previous clothing and odds and ends. the fashionable gypsies are greater in all risk to stay in one place, and that they are into vehicle advertising and fortune telling. Gypsies are adept at small time thefts from shops, and a number of use their teenagers to do the stealing for them. All in all they don't have an extremely good attractiveness and maximum Police will circulate them on in the event that they are in a position to. Jim B. Toronto.

Romanian Gypsies have been coming to the Uk for donkeys years. No probs.
Mr Blair thought it right to throw our frontiers open. So we now have all and sundry flooding in.
The new-comers are giving the genuine Romanies a bad name.
Tony Blair will be gone before the full effect of his policies will be felt in the UK.

Yes, go to Ireland and walk down the streets of Dublin to see what might happen int he UK.
A funny story - I was watching one of these old 'crippled' gysies....he was bent over, shaking as if he had rickets in his leg or something. He was weaping as people walked by "plllleease, pleease I need money to eaaaattt, pleeeeease" weep weep.
Once his hand was soo full of money, he stood up (as people walked by!), and handed the money to his friend and started laughing. Suddenly his back was OK, he could stand up straight and the tears had gone. 2 minutes later he was bak to his old tricks.
You can bet he's on welfare, has a council house, and the whole shabang. Make me wanna vomit.
