Of course I let my kitties sleep with me! My boyfriend doesn't like it though. He hates cat hair (but loves our kitties). I just sneek them in after he's already asleep :)

I've slept with a cat at the foot of my bed for 30 years (not the same cat though!). The cat has always has her own blanket folded up at the foot of the bed (where I won't kick her off in my sleep) but often starts the night curled up behind my knees.
There was a point when I was in my late teen years that I slept with two cats and a little dog in a twin bed. We were a tight fit, but we managed!
Your father had your best interest in mind when he said no cats in bed. If he was raised in the country he likely knows cats as workers, keeping the mouse population down. Or maybe he's comparing to strays he sees outside who aren't well taken care of by loving people. And, there was that old wives tale that a cat would steal the breath of a child during the night...

There is absolutely NOTHING unsanitary about kitty sleeping in the bed with you. When I was a kid I had a cat who used to come under the blankets and lay next to me all night curled up in a ball. It was very cute and she kept me warm, too. Cats are one of the most cleanest and sanitary animals. As a young child, I bet your dad prefered you to play with G.I. Joes instead of dolls, too, huh? Tell him to check with a vet if he is really worried about it and needs some consolation but other than that, sounds like he is just being overly macho or worrying too much.

Definitely. Why not. They don't take up much room, keep you cosy and it's nice to have someone to snuggle if you are sleeping alone. If they snore it can be a problem - I once thought there was an intruder in the house - heavy breathing at the foot of the bed - but it turned out to be the cat with a head cold.

Yes, I do. We have two cats and their ages are 18 and 15. I've had them from the beginning and I hope they'll live a whole lot longer. They both sleep with my husband and me almost everynight and they are deeply loved members of our family. As far as unsanitary, I doubt they have any more germs than we do, they are both inside kittys who are loved, pampered and nurtured. You do have to keep up on the hair shedding though and it takes time but is very worth it.

Kick the cat out and enable it stay out. you have already knowledgeable the cat to alter slumbering araingements now it's time to coach your self. i could somewhat have the guy I plan on cuddling as much as in the mattress with me somewhat than some cat ANY day. Ramifications in case you convey the cat returned could be undesirable. a million your fiance won't experience that his possibilities rely. that's no longer the type you commence a marriage. 2. As a puppy proprietor- preparation your animal is your communication. preparation it to sleep downstairs then introducing it returned up stairs will confuse the cat and make it extra probably to revert in different issues which you have trainned it to do (study: use the clutter container or claw furnishings!) stay this highway. besides you get "busy" way frequently. no longer something like a competent "O" to wipe the guilt away. Its no longer a toddler, this is between the main autonomous pets you might have, this is superb.

Of course my cats sleep with me, I don't think they would have it any other way. My husband and I share a queen size bed with three fat cats. He has his side, then I have my inch of space. One cat sleeps next to me in my arms, like a baby. The other two are curled up at my feet or one at my head. Nothing unsanatary about a cat sleeping with you, as long as they are a clean animal. One of ours actually will sleep under the covers if he is cold. Nothing like waking up in the middle of the night to a cold nose and paws on your back, because he wants in..Its cute though.

My can used to sleep in a box next to my bed when he was a kitten and he used to sneak up into the bed at night and try and sleep on my face.
When he got a bit older he had the runs one night - all over the bed. Another time he knocked all the shelves above my bed down onto me whilst chasing a spider in the middle of the night.
He doesn't sleep with me any more!

I have three cats. All 1 year, 2 girls and 1 boy. They are so sweet, if they want to I let them sleep in my bed, share my pillow, it's so cute! They love to and I love it when they do. There names are Crystal, Sassy, and Bootsey. I don't think that it's unsanitary. I just treat them so there happy. And besides, I love it when they cuddle with me!

Yes, our cat sleeps in our bedroom at night. They are actually very clean animals. He is very cute and cuddly and it's great when he jumps up to get cuddles. Most nights he has to have a fuss with both of us, he has 10 minutes on each of our pillows and often makes us laugh with his cuteness.
